    Ugh... I ache.

This has been one of those weeks that you're just glad to bring to an end... nothing has gone right, and I've been in a foul mood. I've been dealing with virii and various equipment failures at work, the local store was out of those burritos that I like, and things have just been more or less miserable. To top it all off, I've got some things weighing on me from a spiritual perspective, and that's dragging me down, too.

Well, for awhile now, we've had to keep a pitcher near the toilet to help it along when we flush... figuring it was the vent line, I've been waiting for the weather to be decent enough to get on the roof and snake the pipe. Finally got to it.

    That wasn't it.

After some more careful examination, I've come to the conclusion that I need to have the septic tank drained. $220 if he digs it out, $185 if I uncover it. So this afternoon, it's shovel ahoy for this boy! It was kind of hard going, dealing with a few roots that had grown across the top of the tank, but I got most of it cleared. Well, at least as far as the 500 lb. concrete steps that are over top of one edge of the lid.

2 hours, 2 broken ropes, and a couple of mangled 2x4s later, I finally got the steps out of the way, just in time to run out of daylight and not finish the digging.

I fought, and pulled, and tugged, and swore, and lifted, and swore some more (just for good measure) until I was covered in cold sweat. When I finally came inside, I was so dizzy from hunger and fatigue that my wife had to help me stand.

Next time, I think I'll just pay the extra $40.

When it rains it pours. Sorry to hear about it.

From the misery loves company department, I was just laid off. No warning, no notice. At least I had a good amount of vacation saved that they had to pay me for along with a small severance. I've also been looking as I wasn't happy at my now former position. I already had an interview lined up next week when I got the news, so hopefully it will turn out for the best.

So I wait in line for two hours at the post office to pick up a package to find out it is just my next netflix dvd. Seriously, if that is now the case, it is time to sever ties. I hate standing in line with all the people getting passports. Nothing like standing in line behind families filing out forms.

Sometimes these things work out awesome, despite seeming crappy. Hopefully this is one of those times.

Thanks for putting things in perspective guys. I've been trying to remind myself all week, "I have nothing but first world problems."

Hoping that the interview pans out. It certainly tanks how the old place treated you!

That was hardly my intention. However if complaining about standing in line while using a smart phone to read forums and read Restaurant At The End Of The Universe isn't a petty 1st world problem I don't know what is. Certainly a more relaxing use of time than digging out a septic tank

well, here's to us! hoping this thread doesn't have to change names to the "B1tc4 and moan" thread

So, combined me and my wife's paychecks are down $100 - I know I can't complain too much, as we do still have our jobs, but that's an extremely significant chunk of change (thanks for that "change", Mr. You-know-who-you-are), gas prices going up rapidly, grocery costs going up, the bank handling our charge for our furniture changed hands, and now that payment's going up significantly, medical bills out the wazoo, applied to 6 places for part-time extra work, have only heard back from 2 - both of them saying "we can tell from you application you suck and we don't want you here", still gotta come up with the money to pay the IRS (what, you didn't already take enough of my "change"?), etc etc etc.

Oh, and a friend of mine from high school was apparently murdered a couple days ago, shot in the back of the head, wasn't found til a day or so later.

Yeah, first world problems indeed, but hope-sucking and despair-causing problems they are.

Ready for this season of trials to be over, and for some kind of glimmer of hope.
Not asking for it to be easy or painless, just for some hope that things will eventually work out.

okay, back to the regularly scheduled nonsense....

played with a Xoom last night at best buy - veddy veddy nice. Maybe in a couple of years they'll be on ebay for an affordable price...considering ebay, the internet, and money still exist after the apocalypse....

It doesn't really mean anything, other than it gives me opportunity to see and comment when you put new pictures up.

Just because I've always had a thing for Angela Lansbury, and because we could all use a pick-me-up, enjoy her lovely gams as she sings and dances in this classic number:

At first I thought you were going to say "I also do have a thing for Angela Lansbury."

I knew I was the only one.

uggh, so fricking frustrated. rented a movie from Blockbuster express tonight, Iron Man 2, because I haven't seen it available on Netflix yet.
Got a few minutes in, skipped a couple times, but nothing bad, kinda like when a double-layer disc changes layers (for those of us with economy-priced DVD players). Got to minute 52, it jumps to minute 57, plays a second, jumps to 1:02, then stops for a couple of minutes.
I hate - HATE - jumpy choppy video. Don't know why, but it creates a anxiety/stress in me.
It's also the reason I hate - HATE - this cursed "digital transition" bull crap on over-the-air TV signal. I get better video quality, with less interuption, in online video.

Surely there's a way to get the charges removed for a disc you can't watch?

okay, I'm tired of getting on here and complaining, b$*(#*ing and crap.
Promise not to do it anymore, I apologize.

Just going through lots of trials right now, and while talking it out is therapeutic, airing out somewhat anonymously on an online forum doesn't exactly qualify.....so I'll just be calling everyone whose phone number I have and complaining in person :happy097

    just kidding Micah....

    How's Your Day? Feb 28 - Mar 6

New Day, New Week, New attitude....hope it sticks for a while.

Not gonna let these things affect me in such a negative, powerful way. They're still there, have to be dealt with, but not gonna let them have such a depressing effect on me.

My day is gonna start out with a fresh breath of air....yours?
