Finally arrived today. smells alot like (but more citrusy) my 2019 19z01n batch of creed aventus.

No Paul. Trains are not along that route and really if it were, then it would not be economically and logistically viable. We live within 10 min of each other by car. I can get to the restaurant in less than 10 min.

 

I didn't have time for a post yesterday and in my 36 hours away from this thread, it has grown by 535 posts.
I'll try to read them and catch up as best I can.

Yesterday, I decided to scrape the remaining Electric Sheep from the container and transfer it to my Suribachi bowl. All that remains is about the size of a York Peppermint Patty and I'll be bowl lathering it until it's gone. I got this bowl 2 years ago and have only used it sparingly because I face lather for almost every shave. It actually works great to aerate and work up the lather.




Friday's Shave

Everything went according to plan.
2+ passes with the NEW LC provided a comfortable and efficient result with no irritation or mishaps.




Saturday's Shave

Since I am bowl lathering, I decided to create a makeshift scuttle setup. I filled another bowl with hot water and set my Suribachi bowl on top of it to keep the lather warm. Results were pretty good (I don't own an actual scuttle so I can only guess how they perform).

The lather was magnificent (and warm) and I used the brush with painting strokes instead of swiftly swirling it as I do for face lathers. I have to admit, my face (especially my neck) felt great afterwards. This leads me to believe that some brushes (mainly stiff boars) might abrade my skin a bit as I am building a lather on my face. Hmmm

Anyway, the shave went well as planned. 2+ passes with the Tech provided a comfortable and efficient result with no irritation or mishaps to report.
I've now used an aftershave balm for 6 days in a row (the last two days without also using a splash). My skin feels refreshed, so I may try to use balms more often while the weather is still cold.

Thanks Gary! Now I am looking forward to using my Dovo shavette with a new Feather 1/2 DE blade for tomorrow's shave. It will be the very first time using that blade in this shavette.

Great shave and photos Andrew. You do have that soap on the run. I too find that certain brushes are rougher on my face while lathering.

Awesome shave Frank! I was wondering what happened to you. We did a Gillette focus to make you feel at home and you disappeared. Lol! It's ok! Life happens. Glad you are ok. By the way, good move in finding a lathering bowl to whip up your lather. Have a great Saturday.

Great shaves Andrew! Shavers usually blame soaps or bad technique for skin irritation, but they don't realize that employing circular strokes with scritchy brushes will also cause epidermal rashes.
