I have not thought of a remedy for the paint cracking. You can't see them in the pics from today, but they are there. I may just wait until the cracking worsens, then strip the handle and refinish it. I think the wood is Beech.

3 different brit flat bottom tech base plate variants. possible difference in years the bottom one has post war safety bar grooving.. far left has post war safety bars,larger lather slots..

I have Bonaparte and it is Definitely NOT a Veg dupe. It's an unusual citrus heavy soap that had controversy and more complaints than ANY soap Rod ever made though a favorite of his and Mandy's. When he brought it back he warned people NOT to buy it and there would be NO returns or refunds. That to me screamed I need the set. I like it and DESPISE/LOATHE The Veg

There's no denying that ClubGuy is a Clubman dupe but the scent is quite a bit more subtle. Could be that my tub is about three years old contributing to the lighter scent.
