    Indeed, Summer Glau....mmMmmm.

She was also in The Cape, another show, like Chronicles, that has/had lots of promise, just too big for a TV budget.
Still, it's enjoyable. I'm only about halfway through season 1, I'm expecting quality to start dropping off at some point soon...but I'm sure I'll finish it, as long as it's still available on Netflix.

I haven't watched Firefly yet, it's probably next on my "intend to carve out focus time to watch" list. There's lots of shows that I put on to have on while I do other things, like checkbook, painting, etc., but there's several I want to have minimal distractions for, and Firefly is one of them, based on all y'all's recommendations here.
As bonus, I'm apparently enjoying several shows of their alumnis, Summer Glau being in the Terminator series, and The Cape, and Nathan Fillian in Castle.

I too think it's commendable and responsible to let him know.

My only 2 potential issues I see are:

    A) You may have come across as a Goodreads staff member or something, almost like you're trying to convince him to join your website, instead of as a member yourself; and

    B) You didn't also invite him to The Shave Den....:D

    yeah that...

Summer Glau? hmmm mmm.. but not so much in Firefly. Not that there wasn't plenty of distraction on Firefly.

I wouldn't count on catching firefly... apparently, a bunch of fox shows are going to be pulled from streaming on the 1st. Could be an April Fool's joke, but if it is, it's pretty elaborate.

hmmm, as long as it's still available on DVD then, it'll be okay I reckon

Well, in attempting to set up a Group Policy object that would apply to only one user, I accidentally set it to apply to all users.

So far, I've had to go in and manually change the LAN proxy settings on 3 computers.

Hopefully, they're the only ones that got hit with the new policy before I caught the mistake.

    Ugh.

    grrrrrrrr #%$^#$ $&$%&*^ ##@@#%^ ^%*&^(^ $#$@#$ ^*!^!$& dr billing jackwagons!
screw you and the mangy mutt you rode in on!

I'm normally a very laid back person. I may get hot and irate under my skin, but I almost never outburst out loud to anyone.

However, if you're a Dr's office who has been sending me notices that I owe you XX.XX amount of money, and I scrounge and sacrifice for months to get that paid off, the final check I send being about 85% of the total amount that I've been told I owe, only to get 3 more notices for the same account in the same amount I last owed, I'm going to get a little cranky.
I'm looking at the scan of my check, the date being Jan 2, the stamp on the back saying that you got it, you cashed it on the 10th, and I'm still getting bills 3 months later? Yes, that's frustrating - but that I can handle.

When you tell me "yes, we got it, and you still owe $XXX.XX......" WHAT??!? What the hell are you talking about? How has the bill I've been receiving for the past 6 months not shown that? Why do I still owe twice as much as I just paid for a bill I just paid and only known about that amount, and you want to get an attitude about a bill you've never had the courtesy or professionalism to let your patient know about?

Two words, I wonder if they can figure it out:

This the local hospital? Their billing has been broken for awhile. I'm not sure what's going on there, but if I didn't know better, I'd think they're doing some creative billing to cover up somebody playing fast 'n' loose with funds.

I'm not saying that's what they're doing, but it wouldn't surprise me to find out that there's some kind of fraud happening there.

nope, an orthopedic one in TXK.

Yeah, there's hardly any way I'd go to our local one for more than a prescription for persistent, not_gone_away_on_their_own_for_the_past_two_weeks sniffles, or an emergency visit that I'm sure I couldn't make it to St Michael's in time for....and even then it's debatable whether or not it's better being in a speeding car, or their ER.....

I heard back from the author, Christopher Moore!

    Check out the eloquent response:

Somehow I expected something more. Still, it's pretty cool to get a response so quickly!

    that sounds about right.

You spend countless hours working on getting the scripts and policies just right, testing on a few random machines manually, then finally apply it, only to run into the frustrating task of going machine by machine and making sure it's working, and have to spend time on half of them forcing them to update GP; then, on the one time you're testing a policy, and accidentally apply it, everyone gets it automatically within seconds.

If that's not one of the laws of network/server management, it should be :happy097

I thought I would be funny, and get a edit a picture of two boat loading/unloading and tie down edifices built onto a body of water, and found the interwebz fraught with pun-nery on the topic, behold....

Insert poorly 'shopped image of a file folder full of papers labeled "H. Ross Perot" here

I'm too lazy to actually do it, but you get the idea.

In case you don't get the idea: Perot Docs.

It's weird the way this week is progressing. Monday, I was full of energy and got lots done. Tuesday, a little less energy, got a little less done. Today, no energy, and cranky.

    ah. that helps.

sounds about right. except the part about energy. I haven't had any since sometime last week. I think Monday stole it.
