Lovely classic Gem shave, Jason! That is a Model 1912! I like mine, and should shave with it more! Just thought I’d let you know that I’m finally taking delivery of a classic Sheffield Hobson straight razor with hand carved scales today! Boy, it’s really a delight when new shave goodies arrive! Remember that wonderful feeling, just like opening a Christmas present! :D

Very nice looking L1 Aristocrat Slim Pierpaolo! Excellent everything in the combination today.

Such a cool thoughtful gift Jason! Nice setup to go along as always, cool brush handle design!

That's no fun at all Paul. Neosporin and band aids for a shave incident, wow. Been there twice over the past 2 years. I hope this helps.....I'm inferring from your posts, as well as my 2 incidents.....it sounds like a 'shave on autopilot' issue. Be sure to take time to let it heal before over shaving the area. Look in the mirror before picking up any shaving tool, and make sure the auto pilot light is OFF, and only then proceed.

Hope you have a better rest of the day!

Thank you Blair....at times I do just that. As I say, I'll do another Neosporin and bandage later today. It looks a little better now, but perhaps just to be safe I may skip S. Porcupine altogether tomorrow.

Same soap base, different scent, same outstanding lather.

Per @Trigger 's advice, I binned the old Feather and cracked open a new one...glue dots and all.
Gents, even with the SLICKEST of lathers.
Even with the LIGHTEST of touches.
This razor is a tiger, ready to pounce.
While I will unabashedly admit "user error", I continue to get the occasional weeper.
To be clear, these are mos def© not cuts, but just irritating enough to cause capillary weeping.
    Oh well...
What I said yesterday about a straight being much more forgiving...
I 100% stand by that statement. I never...BUT NEVER get weepers with a straight.
I may get an actual cut, but a weeper? Nope.
Enough of the drama...I don't want Charlie to feel compelled to search out another Wizard of Oz meme.
(Honestly, I have NO clue what he is attempting to say with those posts :signs002: )
    Finished with the usual routine.
Witch Hazel/Proraso ASB, which, btw, I reordered.

Love the VC3, Gary. I had a NOS VC4 in the original box with the strop never opened and sold it. Regrettably. I always wanted to give it a go.

Thanks, Danny! It will! I would never attempt to shake folks’ confidence, but I’m very excited to receive a relatively rare vintage Sheffield Hobson with hand carved scales. Isn’t it a wonderful feeling when new shave goodies arrive! (@jluc, @Dave in KY , @jtspartan )! :D

    Gillette 7OC Super Platinum (1)
    Frank Shaving 2-Band Manchurian
    Haslinger Schafmilch
    T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Stirling Glacial Unscented ASB
    Milton-Lloyd 'No. 9 Victor' EdP

2+ easy passes provided a comfortable and efficient result this morning with no irritation or mishaps to report. I opted only for a sans-fragrance ASB (no-splash) today so that I could have a good test of the new EdP that has joined the collection. Sparked by some unintentional @Primotenore enabling, I researched the Milton-Lloyd Perfumer's Choice line of fragrances. My largest enabler to date, Amazon, proved to help me with finding some options. I took a $15 flyer on the No. 9 Victor scent and so far, it's a keeper. From what I read in reviews, Victor is an interpretation of Creed Aventus. I've not smelled the authentic version, however I have used 4 aftershave dupes of it and the Victor is well in that range. Interesting note: when sprayed, the bottle surprised me with a strong stream. After a check of the ingredients list, I see butane is part of the mix, which explains the aerosol effect.
