    Thank you Joe.

I didn't think of the SMN shave cream as a babershop scent but now I can see it. The Tobacco Tosano scent is amazing. I can see getting the parfum version on the scent.

    Thank you Blair. Happy Friday.

Thank you Charlie. Things are getting a little better. Happy Friday

    Consider...and this is a scent of a different color...Nostalgia. :scared003:
    1. Top Notes
    2. Heart Notes
    3. Base notes
    4. Nostalgia erupts into your field of vision just like a stubborn child memory: fast, without a warning and surreptitiously loudly. It envelops you with top notes that recount the memories of your grandfathers old gasoline-imbued leather Mercedes interiors mixed in with his citrusy cologne and tobacco-stained fingers. Yet, just quickly as he puts his foot down on the accelerator and whisks you off your feet, this intense nostalgic memory is torn away from you. And so in a jiffy, the car crashes into an old oak tree and as the memory dissolves into fumes of burnt tires and incandescent wood, you're left desperately clinging onto the remains of your childhood clasping the only thing you have left: your mother's base note of burnt vanilla.
    5. A bit of a tease, this one. The gasoline/leather top notes give the expectation of a true gas-pump fantasy. But along with gasoline’s scent, Nostalgia has gasoline’s volatility. Still, the crackly woody dry down of Nostalgia is a wonderful scent in its own right, top notes or not. And for those of you who like woody fragrances but don't want a warm, harmonious feeling, Nostalgia remains fairly cool, carrying the chill of evaporation that gasoline has on your skin.
Two thoughts. One, this is an interesting option for those still mourning the loss of Fahrenheit’s original formulation. Two, Nostalgia points out that in the language of perfumery, gasoline is a woody note.
    6. Said that, Nostalgia it's not the kind of scent you would expect form a company founded in 1612 as it's quite modern and somehow weird. Rubber and leather that smell exactly like the interiors of my grandad's old FIAT 500 during the summertime, when odors were emphasized by the high temperatures of the season. A great fragrance if you like challenging smoky rubber/leather scents a-la Knize Ten / CDG's Garage / Lisa Kirk's Revolution. I do.
    7. After reading the reviews, sent for a sample of this for my brother. He is so much of a car nut that his license plate reads...you guessed it....CARNUT. He could not stand it but I loved it. It is an odd one to be sure. Starts with a blast of creosote. Does not jive a bit with the old-timey bottle and traditional sounding moniker. The scent starts to morph after about 15 minutes and goes from beast to beauty. Just following the changes is fascinating.
Winds up slightly sweet, very rich and captivating. The beginning would offend many. The ending will charm most.

Fabulous Friday shave Blair! Your post was very detailed and well-written. The green MrEE brush is a looker. Have a good day!

Congrats, Danny, on the potato peeler. I've also admired the design, and it looks like a fun razor to use! I'd be honored if you'd use the soap cherished by all rational Philadelphians on its maiden voyage.

At your rate of recent purchases, you have earned a seat on the BMS21 Board of Directors.

I used to own the Oren Nano, but found the oversized head very awkward to shave with. So I sold it. I’ll be very interested in your experience with the razor.

Paul, how on earth do you continue to slash yourself up with a disposable razor? Are you finding a need to press in more than enough to clear lather. Are you moving the tool horizontally to the edge? I’m confused by it.

Jeff, I have a big head so it probably will be alright.:D

I'm looking forward to giving it a go and I'll let you know what I think. Take care.

It must be, Danny, for no rational Philadelphian would ever be referencing the flowery, old lady’s leather purse fumes associated with Tabac! The clean refreshing soapy scent of MWF is what we reference! :p
