Fabulous Henson shave, Clint! Enjoy your Saturday!
Aww, Bill! I was just showing our mutual friend, Jim (@jluc), what he is now free to ignore! I respect Jim a great deal, and now with his upcoming MOLC induction, I just want to help him fill his free time with admiration of new SHINY safety razors! :angelic007:

    Good morning fellas!

    Straight Shave # 240
7/8 J A Henckels Friodur Full Hollow Square Point
C-Mon Heritage Collection Super HD Badger
Stirling Bay Rum SS and AS
    Dickenson's Unscented WH (not pictured)
Nivea for Men ASB (not pictured)
    Whiskers: 37 hours

I decided to change to my old bloom the soap method. The C-Mon is my 1A brush and I like it because of its aesthetics and its great lathering performance. True to form, she gave me a beautiful, creamy, thick, slick lather. She still is a lather hog, but most dense knots are.
I decided to bring out the Henckel's today because it is awhile since I shaved with this beauty. It is one of my favorites and I should use it more often since it has my honed edge on it. This blade is uber sharp that I just needed to guide the blade with literally no pressure. I only needed two passes with very little pickups for a near BBS shave. Did get a weep on my mouth corner and one on my stache, but they disappeared with the cold water. Decided to hit them with the pen for good measure.
The post shave ritual was using the witch hazel, the balm and the aftershave, respectively. Since using the witchhazel, my skin is looking much better so that it will always be a part of my postshave regimen. Furthermore, my shave was so smooth that I received very little burn from the Stirling Bay Run aftershave.
This was truly an enjoyable and pleasant shave!
Have a great day guys! 20210122_195322.jpg

Lovely Occam’s shave, Danny! With no need to do the upper lip, there should be no issues! Enjoy your new razor, my friend!

I'm glad this shave was better, Paul!

Those repeat strokes are tempting, and it can be a hard habit to break. Lather up, use the razor to gently "wipe" the lather from your face. Forget about cutting whiskers at this point...it will happen when your technique is right. No repeat strokes (aim for slightly overlapping short strokes), use minimal pressure, and STRETCH YOUR SKIN. Feel around, and if there's any stubble left, re-lather and repeat. Even if you have to do another pass in the same direction, that's perfectly fine. In my opinion, it would be better to do multiple passes than to have those repeat strokes in a single pass shave. I've noticed that Mantic59 does a pretty good job eliminating the repeat strokes, but not so much with skin stretching. Start at 2:00 in the video below. I can only say both things were game changers for me. Yeah, this takes more soap, but I bet you have plenty

Have a great weekend, my friend. You got this. :)

    DE Shave 323

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Bigelow & Parkin Travel
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
Brush: PAA Atomic Rocket 26 mm
    Lather: Stirling Spice
    Aftershave: B & M Reserve Spice
    Additional Care:
    Barbero Alum Block
    Stirling Tea Tree Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Today is decided to have the inaugural shave with the Bigelow & Parkin Travel razor which I obtained through the generosity of Dave, @Dave in KY. There is definitely a learning curve to shave with a razor head without a handle . Your hand, by default and design, becomes the handle. It took the three passes to learn the appropriate angle for the razor to smoothly do it’s job. I managed an error free shave, silent alum and superb smoothness. Therefore, this shave was a total success.

I will used this razor periodically to get a better feel. Perhaps even a mini focus at some point in February.

Again, thank you Dave for your generosity. Hope you all have a great Saturday.

Wedges are great shavers, indeed! They are the silent killers of the shave world. I don't like to use heavy grinds on my 1 day growth so I rarely use my near wedge. I am glad that you like your Hobson.

Cool shave, Joe! That’s one safety razor that would never work for me because of my rheumatoid arthritis. Enjoy your Saturday!

It's going to take more than a razor that I already own the SS version of to break my resolve.

    Staying strong!

Great initial shave with that razor Joe! I have never seen that razor. I am glad you got a handle on that handleless razor. By the way, Ray Charles would shave just using a DE blade. Yes, he didn't use a razor!
