Glad to hear things improved with the V2, Danny. What blade are you using in there, out of curiosity. Yup, need to ride the cap regardless.
Ironically, your experience with the V2 mirrors my initial experience with the Katana. It was a pussycat for you and a symbolic weapon from the French Revolution for me. Vice Versa on this one, it appears.

A new razor to you, Gary? Or did I miss posts on it before this week? What is the backstory on it, as I don’t believe I know anything about the razor?

 

If I may suggest that you keep familiar gear on hand and start with partial shaves on the stuff new to you.

A quick way to convince yourself to give up is to try to do it all at once and have a crummy experience.

A Seaweed Sunday Shave was on tap this morning and it left my face feeling smooth and refreshed. I switched to the NEW Long Comb and 2+ passes provided a comfortable and efficient result with no irritation or mishaps to report. This Nivea balm contains seaweed extract which provides the slight cooling/refreshing effect (there's no menthol). There's enough menthol in the Epsilon aftershave to give a great chill though.

i would try it,while you have others on hand....bit at a time.cheeks first only...leave the blade in.just rinse well with hot water..
