Every once in a while, I'll imagine the voices and speech patterns from Charlie Brown Kwanzaa on the PBS gang :rofl. Doesn't always work, but sometimes it's hilarious......well, to me anyway :D

I can't say that I even know what the CBK is. I guess I will have to search that out later when I am not on hold.

    Um, good point....

So, I shall interject a warning: Language and subject material is very coarse and for mature, yet immature, adults only...and even then, it's questionable.
It's a dubbed version of CB Christmas....as if a young Eddie Murphy wrote the script.
Judge for yourself whether to watch it or not....I blame Micah for introducing me to it. I do laugh at it, but also cringe about it sometimes :D

Mainly I made the comment above as a reference to Micah, but if you think you can handle it.....I'd probably recommend Mike not even consider it

So while on hold with tech sport support, the net died. Some how I get the feeling things are not going well.

Found out one of my favorite uncles passed away last night. I hadn't seen him in years, and he had been on dialysis for the last 9 years. When faced with amputation of his feet, he opted to quit dialysis. They said that he was alert up to the end, and was at peace with his decision. He took his last bit of time to say "goodbye" to his family and passed in the late evening.

You will be missed, Uncle Rick. I love you.

P.S. Uncle Rick, I know you've been to Texas before, so when you get to Heaven, try not to be too surprised if it seems a little small.

Uncle Rick would have appreciated that last bit.

A trick to phone support- When you call, if they have an option for Spanish, use it! Then, when the person gets on the phone, say 'Habla Ingles?' Most Spanish speaking folks also speak English....they will say 'Yes' and you can carry on with your question with them :) Wait times are dramatically less than with the typical English line. True story. Good luck :D

Sorry to hear about that...you will be in my thoughts

Still no satellite (deck repair hasn't been finished) and no internet at home.
At least we have power, water, and phone. Its enough. But, it is causing a work backload and me to be negligent in my posting duties here. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Micah, I am sorry to hear about your loss. You and your family are in my thoughts/prayers

Just met Terri Farley, author of the Phantom Stallion series.

    That was pretty neat.

Yay... home internet is back up. It took over a year to get the DSL company to do the upgrade. We went from a whopping 768 K download / 128 K upload to an astonishing 128 k download / 128 k upload.

Yup.. it took a year for an upgrade that resulted in a major downgrade. But hey, it only costs a little bit more each month. Yay us...

Justin I've had similar issues with telecom providers. The last place I lived was out in the sticks and I couldnt even get DSL. The best I could do was 28.8 dialup. I had to go out on the roof deck to use my cell phone. The sad thing was that work was a mile away from me and I had a few T3 lines there. Hopefully they will be able to improve the speed for you.

Huh... I realized that I hadn't updated by stash thread for a year. Wow... I thought I had gotten rid of a lot of razors. And yet.. the list is still longer.

    kinda, but not really....sorta.

Nope, wife had just told me about her day.

Suffice it to say, as far as the nation's current financial crisis, as well as individual states' crises, the manure is ready to start its even distribution via oscillating air-circulating device.

As far as her news, 5 staff at her particular campus alone received word they need to find new employment for next year. Not due to performance, sadly due to huge budget cuts.
What's worse, the're going to have to use other skills, or learn some, chances of finding a teaching job in Texas next year is extremely low.
Of course, I've got a wild idea - instead of not renewing teachers' contracts, how 'bout trimming down all the "assistant vice superintendant of X, Y, and Z"?

    Seriously.

I have a fear that the US of A as we currently know it will be no more soon. It will be completely different, and not in a positive way.

And that's all I'mma gonna say on that.

yeah... around here if you have three years of experience, you are stuck. Nobody will hire you if you have more than 3 years of experience even if you are willing to take starting salary.

I had to reedit the next part several times and it kept coming out as political so I just deleted it... . lets just say I am not happy with the scene here either..
