Refurbish Brush ?

    Hi everyone.

    I picked up a vintage brush. Its a barbershop special like the one pictured.

    can you take the knot out with the boiling water method or, does it need drilled out?

    jimjo1031 never bloomed myself

    I've done a couple of them. First I cut the bristles off flush with the top of the ferrule with my Stanley utility knife. Then drill the rest out with my rotary tool.

    Is that a wooden handle? If so, I’m not sure that boiling water is a good idea. It could damage the wood & its finish.

    Glad to be of help. Assuming it is indeed a wooden handle, do what @jimjo1031 said. You can probably find a bunch of “How-to” videos to help, if you need them.
