That may be, but how come no one equated the word to a sports team until just a few years ago. Did Webster flip that definition into his dictionary like Doc Ezlovan flips in a sample soap with your Stoylin order???

Hopefully you are getting some beard reduction with the Red Tip on your WTG pass, Paul. If not, you may want to stick with it until you do. On XTG or ATG passes, it's even more important to stretch your skin and use a light touch. In my experience, it's easier to draw blood on those passes.

Maybe it's A LITTLE beard reduction, but it certainly isn't much. I still feel some Astroturf there. That's with the WTG routine.

It seems to me that you are not getting the right angle Paul. Before you move the razor, start with keeping the cap full flush to the cheek, then tilt the handle downward and move the razor. If you don't hear buttering toast, then move the handle a little further down and move the razor. Once you hear buttering toast, then you have the correct angle.

    Good morning everyone.

I got up this morning and fixed breakfast and a nice cup of coffee.
That is when today's shave inspiration hit me. That right........Italian!

The Omega boar whipped an excellent batch of Cella this morning.

The Fatip Testina Gentile was an E-Bay find before Christmas and finally made its way in the first part of this week. This is the only Fatip in the den. I had been wanting to add a Fatip to the den for a while.

This razor reminds me a lot of a Karve solid bar C plate but might be a tad more efficient. Three passes with one small weeper. I need to spend more time with it because it is deceptively efficient. I have a tendency to go over an area more than necessary because of it smoothness. It does not feel like it is working.

I did do one pass on the cheeks with the Parker SRX.

A little Witch Hazel and the matching juice and I am ready to get some projects out of the way today.

    Have a great Saturday gentlemen!

Congrats, Joe! One small thing- the R41 isn’t a true OC razor. More like a scalloped plate.

Thanks Jason! You are right, but in comparison to my other safeties; it is more open. Also, it is marketed as an open comb razor.

Fabulous TI shave this morning. Another icy day in the northeast ahead of the Nor’easter Sunday -Tuesday. Danny, @Hembree, I believe you mentioned earlier this week that you have never shoveled snow. I am sure Joe, @Trigger, and I will glad defer some of those chores to you.

This morning’s three pass shave has left my face smooth and refreshed. Tomorrow shave will feature the Bigelow & Parkin Travel razor on loan from Dave, @Dave in KY. Following the shave, I will do some chores outside to prepare for the storm. Fun times.
The question will be: Will we have a traditional snow day or a virtual school day. My feeling is let the kids be kid for once this year with the impact of the COVID adaptations.

    Have a great day gentlemen.

Great shave Joe! I don't believe we will be hit hard with snow accumulation. I also agree that Danny can come up and join us to experience snow shoveling. Lol!

SOTD SATURDAY MORNING, JANUARY 30, 2021

I couldn't help myself this morning! Sorry for the late post. I just want to shave with the new-to-me Sheffield H. Hobson 6/8 full wedge again. I really like the looks of the hand carved scales. I'm also amazed at its efficiency and quiet as this old beauty (1850s) reduced my mug whiskers to the skin line in three enjoyable passes, unlike the songs of the full, half and quarter hollows I own. After yesterday’s fabulous noggin shave with my favorite Valet Auto Strop model, the VC4, I decided to shave the gourd today with my display Queen, the silver plated VB2 Valet Auto Strop again with a freshly stropped Feather FAS-10 carbon steel blade. The two pass ATG dome shave, perhaps because of the OC, didn’t feel quite as efficient as yesterday’s. Nevertheless, the final results checked all the boxes, and left me refreshed and velveteen smooth.

RAZOR: Sheffield H. Hobson 6/8 Wedge (Mug), Valet Auto Strop VB2 (Dome)
    BLADE: Feather FAS-10 Carbon Steel
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: JR Custom Rosewood Silvertip Badger #378
    CREAM/CROAP: A&E Shaving Butter
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with A&E Post-Shave Serum.

Thank you Joe. It does not matter how hard we get hit, I will be shoveling and my shoulder will not like it.
