A fine, lazy afternoon shave today. Very good results for two passes with no issues.
I doubt that I will shave tomorrow, so this will be my last shave of the month as well. I had a few focusses on the go that ended successfully. I was able to spend some time with this Katana and got it dialed in. Keeper. I also received my ZO/R41 clone and was able to get some good shaves with it. Keeper. Gave a few days to the Gillette Injector. Only usable with twin blades, imho. Keeper-ish. Will replace the I1 out at the lake and will move the I1 on. I also spent a week with some fine Gillettes for Gary’s mini focus and used Rapira blades in all my DEs (and this Katana) this month. The Sharp Stars and Platinum Luxs were my faves of the bunch and are probably the only 2 I would reach for. Productive focus, though. Lastly, I got 4 shaves in with the English EverReady 1912 my wife got me at Christmas. Keeper. It will relegate the Gem Jr to PIF status. Also was able to use up the Palmolive menthol cream and started the Reserve Cool end game.
As usual, though, the highlight of the month was the great banter with you all...well, that and the incoming Karve.

Early morning shave with an evening post.
Another full Gillette setup today. 2+ passes provided a comfortable and efficient result with no irritation or mishaps to report.
This Gillette Pure shaving cream really is a decent product, especially for the price. Currently on Amazon, it's listed at $13 for a 3-pack. The scent is a basic subtle mint to my nose and the performance is more than acceptable.

Thank you, Dave! I bought the Pure (using a coupon) at Walmart in 2019 and it works great. I like knowing there's a good, local "off the shelf" option if/when needed.

I performed my 12th January rule shave on the 27th and finished up the month with a blade change from Feather to GSB. Two+ passes on three days of growth left me as near BBS as I'll ever get, and it's comfortable to boot. The SC loaded with a GSB blade is a tad smoother on the first shave compared to a Feather. I skipped the Aramis tonight and will bask in a couple of sprays when I roll out of the bunk tomorrow.

We took a nice hike in different park yesterday and did a brisk walk around the neighborhood today before the rain set in. (For the last few weeks, I've upped my daily exercise routine, and I'm holding my weight steady around my 200-lb target.) We came home to nice roast in the crock pot today, with a little more Vitamin D on board. Tonight is movie night, and I have a urologist appointment (ugh) on Tuesday.

This has been a great month of mostly rule shaves for me. I'm happy to say that I conquered the trouble spots around my chin and mouth. I can now achieve mostly error-free BBS results in these areas, and that just makes the overall shave feel and look better.

January has been another great month of shaving, learning, and fellowship. A big thanks to @Primotenore for leading the charge, stinking up the place with all his new frags, and reminding us of the days when our Cruisemobiles rocked Fine Corinthian Leather upholstery. Too bad he couldn't unload that cheap bottle of fake Oud on his daughter's BF. I guess it just shows he's a smart kid, and he may have just passed the future son-in-law test.

It's an honor and a pleasure to be part of this fine group.

My next shave is planned for Monday, February 1st with my Parker SRX and Tabac as part of the 7-day mini-focus with @Trigger, @Hembree and anyone else that would like to join. Irrational shavers may elect to substitute a substandard open-edge shaving device or soap as part of this focus.

We were in a city park adjoining The Louisville Loop yesterday. This is a day after our 2-3" snowfall, and it's almost gone already. If it was a little warmer, this is where we'd put our canoe in the water. We'd have to buy a canoe first, though.

Excellent shave and post Charlie! I can't wait to start the mini focus on Monday! I will not shave tomorrow and that will give me almost full 2 days growth. I think I may use the same brush throughout the mini focus as well. I think it will be my JR # 290 synthetic brush. Looking forward to Monday!
