Thanks, Cliff! As you probably know, the AS-D2 is one of my safety razors I always enjoy with my headshaves.

Well, here we are at the end of the month already. I thought it flew by.
I was successful with my 2011 R41 focus. What I said a while back,
about this razor not being a great "daily driver"...I take back. With the proper technique,
soap, prep, etc. it'll get the job done as good as anything out there.
I am still working on the AoS Sandalwood, and you will see this cream quite often in February.
The D3 rocked the lather, but truth be told, this product is so easy to lather,
you would be successful using a small paint brush.
I chose to add a tad less H2O and was rewarded with better cushion, without sacrificing slickness.

There have been many, many reformulations and flankers of this iconic juice.

You can tell that this bottle is the original formulation, by the silver, engraved stem. (See photo 2)

It's a lovely fragrance and I have come to really appreciate Iris.
Thanks to all for sharing my shave journey this month. I do my best to respond to all
    the kind
compliments, but I don't always succeed. If I have missed some, I apologize.
    See you all in February.

My Tatara Masamune is very similar to your AS-D2. It might have a touch more blade gap but is very similar otherwise. The sweet spot is narrow but when I do my part it is very efficient with Feather blades.

    DE Shave # 325

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Bigelow & Parkin Travel
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
    Brush: Skully
Lather: Declaration Grooming After the Rain
Aftershave: Declaration Grooming After the Rain
    Additional Care:
    Barbero Alum Block
Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

For the final day of January I have chosen to use the Bigelow & Parkin Travel razor, on loan from Dave, @Dave in KY. It is such an interesting razor and a very cool concept. Talk about minimalistic.
I always enjoy the DG Afternoon the Rain combo which was the first DG product I tried over three years ago. For today, a name for the soap that would be more appropriate would be “Before the Snow”.
I might be tempted to bust out Ginger’s Garden Snow Bliss for Tuesday’s shave. I am not sure it will be blissful, shoveling, but you get the spirit of the thought.

I will continue in the month of February with the 1508.5 Project in an effort to sink the RR X soap.
Regarding today’s shave, my second with the B & P razor, it was fabulous. I had an Ben better shave than with my first use. Obviously, my improved experience with the DE, finding the correct angle for each razor in my den, definitely helped with the progression in the quality of the shave.

Now that I have procrastinated enough this morning, it is time to go outside to do some chores in preparation for the upcoming weather event. :Animatedfrozensmily:
One final note, I may join a few of you in the mini-focus with the Parker SRX starting tomorrow.
    Have a great day gentlemen.

Thank you Clint. I have referred to a FB posting known as Tri-State Weather for the past several years. When it comes to severe weather he is usually more accurate than the NWS and the local news channels. Right now, all of the models with his explanation has Joe, @Trigger, and I in the bullseye of the storm with potential snowfall totals of 15+ and over 20+ if your area gets hit with heavy bands of snow. Since it is very cold right now,I am hoping it is fluffy. Of that could change if some mixing manage to work its way in to the storm.
    Let the fun begin

That amount of snow here in Atlanta would be a total disaster. If I am ever fortunate enough to retire, I am moving some place warmer than here.

I used to be the same, Clint. As my technique improved I found large gaps and lots of blade exposure to be unnecessary. I've come to believe efficiency is in the hand of the shaver and not the head of the razor.
