Awesome posts guys ! Off to a banger of a start already.:bounce017:
Spent the day getting stuff ready for the storm... gas , beer , groceries and smokes . First time I left the house in days and I sure wasnt missing anything. Lineups everywhere. Blasted weather network got everyone afraid of winter with their sensationalized doomsday weather reports. My God it's only snow people . What is -6 but feels like -17 supposed to mean anyway?
If I seem a tad cranky it's because my sinus cavity feels like I shoved that flamethrower up it . Carry on :)

Thanks Patrick! Hope you sinus condition subsides. As you know, I suffer from sinusitus. I don't have that many bad days like I once did, but there are some days that I can be quite ornery.

Thanks Joe. You obviously know what I'm talking about. Felt like my face was being crushed at the same time. Used the spray from doctor as directed and it helps a bit but some seasons are worse than others . Luckily this hasn't been this bad for 5 years but I see its returned with a vengeance. My grandfather suffered up to a week sometimes and apparently it got passed down to me and a few of my sisters. It's funny how the body reacts to pain....after it gets so intense you cant stand it , it all of a sudden feels like you are flooded with adrenalin and it starts fighting back. That is just weird .

It used to be so bad that I had trouble sleeping because I was so congested. Sometimes, I have a hard time swallowing because all the gunk was still in my throat. I try drinking plenty of water and the exercise helps. I haven't gone the neti pot route as of yet.

Exactly my friend. My nephew joined the military here in Canada 2-3 years ago and was nudged to step up at times also. He loves serving his country and has had many wonderful experiences and opportunities since enlisting. I hope you enjoy your time serving as well. Chance of a lifetime for a young man. Takes a special breed and I think you got the chops to succeed :)
    Stay strong.

Ooooh the dreaded neti pot. I refuse to use that. Sometimes I feel like I'm suffocating in my sleep also. I drank a ton of water today also. I do need more exercise though and I applaud you for your healthy lifestyle. That takes willpower.

Thank you Patrick. 4 yrs going to the gym six days a week for most of that time span. My membership expires this Thursday. With the storm, I can't go out and the gym was closed today and probably tomorrow, so I only have one day left. However, I have Silver Sneakers which is a benefit that I get on my senior health plan (Medicare Advantage) so that I can go to any gym for free as long as they accept my Silver Sneakers membership. Obviously, you have to be 65 and older to be eligible for Silver Sneakers.

That's 15 short years away for me Joe but hopefully by then I will pull myself up by the bootstraps and get back to the gym or karate again. I was never a Charles Atlas or Joe Weider but still try to hold my own. I see Arnold is still working out and promoting fitness as a senior citizen . Never imagined the day I would be calling him a senior citizen but he has held steadfast and still looks great. :) Seems the generations get softer as they come along. My Dad was like yourself and kept his body moving no matter what until he punched into his 80s.

I am the example that it is never too late to start exercising. I hated the gym in school because I was not athletic. I was the typical nerd. I did plenty of walking jogging and used the universal gym machines in my early 20's. It was close to 40 yrs later that I joined LA Fitness and my transformation is incredible. However, I never was a muscular guy, but I do have some tone. So, I am grateful that I can go and workout an hr to an hour and a half. Now, I do take 5 min breaks in between machines and free weights. Lol! Anyway, I am a firm believer in exercise. Unfortunately, it took me 61 years to figure it out. Good night.
