No idea and that was the same reason I was bidding it because I've never seen a Canadian made flat bottom razor head either. The handle would have been an added bonus.

i was wondering on the handle as well.i have one and it has the canadian prewar triangular slot head.seen in the khaki set..

Attention former "no buyers"... since you are here, you have clearly fallen off your No Buy wagon. :( While that is regrettable, there is the small matter of a penalty to be paid. To wit ... you shall post yourself singing the Penguin National Anthem if you wish to redeem yourself. I include verse one so that you can begin to practice.

I would assume the razor head was produced somewhere between 1932 - 38 so that would be a good starting point to search from as far what was being sold those years.

1936 they made a set called the Canadian. The Christmas set came with a gold plated razor but I found some other variations of the set with different amounts of blades and probably non gold plated razors. I haven't found any pictures with the razor itself in the set but it is the most likely correct set for that razor head. Handle maybe not. Go forth and solve.

1936 ads I found for the Canadian set. Everything points to only American made Gillette razors except for possibly the New Deluxe being sold in Canada at this point so that razor head or New Deluxe are the only likely candidates for the Canadian set. Canadian 3pc Tech razors don't show up until 1939. I know the New Deluxe style head was sold 36 since they did advertise Belmont sets which had the razor head attached to the handle but didn't claim it to be Canadian made unlike this set. They did made that style razor in Canada so it would be the other candidate for the Canadian set. What info points to your razor head is the price. The Belmont set was priced at $5 CAD, more than Aristocrat sets and this set is only $2.50 CAD with more blades. I doubt the case was that much of a price difference so it does lend to it possibly being a razor like the one you have.

I have to backtrack slightly they also made the standard New style heads aka long and short combs in Canada so they could be a possibility also for the set and sold outside the sets so the above statement is not really true. In actuality it would be the American Aristocrats as the only American made razors being sold in Canada. What does seem to be the case is no English made razors were being sold this year in Canada.

The question becomes did that Canadian set come with a Canadian made new long comb or the Candian flat bottom new? I seriously doubt it would be the New Deluxe razor based upon pricing.

i remember Adam saying the brit flat bottoms came out in 1946 ish, this could also be a transition/shortage build before canada adapted the post war razor around 1948.Remember my steel canadian prewar/brit bakelite handle razor?.you found an add from 1946 with it.then in 1948 ish they were post war design, england changed up to post war type in 49-50..
