Good day everyone, I am looking for advice on how to better polish the blades. I’m in need of what products and tools are used to remove stains, scratches from the metal. The buffing compound sticks don’t seem to be doing the job. Thanks for any advice.
This hints that you are using a buffer,, ***The advice I am going to give is DANGEROUS to you and the razor*** You need Greaseless Compound to actually remove metal they range from 60-600 grit The biggest misconception of buffing is that you are removing the pits and scratches from the surface of the metal, that is actually false You are removing the metal from around the Blems and then blending it all even There are two types of Greaseless Compounds Tube and Brush On They are not always easy to use it takes practice, you should start with heavy bladed razors as you are less likely to burn them up Caswells is the best place for supplies and for information on how to buff Proceed at your own risk At the top of this subforum is a sticky in there is this thread I did a little over a decade ago There is a ton of hints and tips in that thread https://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/step-by-step-guide-to-a-restored-razor.15425/
