Hence the NB, I suppose. I keep a rotation of 20 razors, 25 soaps/creams and 25 splashes. Give or take. One in one out, within reason. Brushes are exempt as I’m still below 20, although you are doing your best to push that too. :happy088:
I do have 7 extra razors in the ‘give to my son/PIF/donate to newbies or the raffle’ drawer though...

I tried a Derby Extra and the first shave was rough. I hear that they smooth out with consecutive shaves . Have a free tuck of Premium coming Monday. Should be interesting :happy088:

    Nothing beats the originals :happy088:

Awesome Barry. I'm going to have to revisit my WS with a saloon pack WS blade now that you got me thinking about the Wilky again. Bought me nephew one and he loves it :)

I agree Barry. Just loaded a WS saloon blade in mine for todays shave. I'm a bit excited to try it with the WS shave stick soap as well.

Was going to wait one more day to shave and let the Fatip piccolo have a taste of 3 days growth but after seeing Barry @palmolive fox using his Wilkinson sword TTO lately, I began thinking maybe it was time to revisit this $20 wonder with a blade I haven't used in it yet . Albeit a "mild'" razor, with the right blade I wondered could it perform a BBS shave ??? The answer is YES.
Pulled out a Wilkinson/Gillette saloon pack blade with 1 shave under its belt and loaded it up. Since I was in a Wilkinson state of mind I used the shave stick also with the beautiful JR 241 (soap slinger) and made much much luxurious lather for the task at hand.
Added some skin stretching and proper technique for 3 passes and to my delight was aptly rewarded.
One thing I did notice with this razor/blade combo was some noticeable audio feedback which assured me the job was getting done.
In summary, of all the blades used in this "budget" razor I would have to say the WS/ Gillette saloon has given me the best results.
Added a generous splash of the Booster juice to seal the deal and left me feeling fresh and awake .
Since I'm on a roll this morning I may have to make another coffee and tempt a headshave with the Fatip lo Storto slant . Stay tuned ;).........

    Sunday February 7, 2021
Razor: Gibbs #15 @Clouds Brass Handle
    Blade: Wizamet
    Brush: Graydog Quilt
    Soap: Dr Jon's Savannah Sunrise
    AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
    AS 2: Stirling Peach
    Fragrance: CK One

1st off I forgot to mention that the gentlemen known as @Primotenore and I had exchanged some frags samples. I sent him the older Terre D"Hermes Edt and he sent the Parfum to me to compare. He has a much more refined nose and descriptions than I. My take was the opening of them had the Parfum slightly less dirty citrus and more to the bright side but on dry down they were very similar. There has been discussion that the after 2015/16 EdT is weaker. I was curious and have confirmed that the replacement should be the Parfum to get the same effect.

Just an amazing shave with the Gibbs today. I had not tried it with the Brass aftermarket handle yet and wanted to try it. I like both the extra weight it gives as well as the slightly more handle length. It was a winner for sure and we are glass like smooth today. Took today off the 1508.5 Project on Steroids but back at it tomorrow. Topped with some Stirling Peach Splash and some CK One EdT. Have a tremendous day guys !
