SOTD SUNDAY MORNING, FEBRUARY 7, 2021

We arrived to dry conditions, but woke up to 4” of snow here in rural Pleasant Hill, TN. Unfortunately, my father-in-law’s place is midway down the mountain, and I have some serious snow-shoveling to do as the local township snowplow left a huge wall of snow across the foot of the driveway. Anyway, back to my shave! This week while in TN I’ll be using two of my favorite safety razors, the SS Supply V2 and my favorite Shake Sharp, the Model 1.5 with the black Bakelite handle. This morning’s dome shave featured the Supply V2 loaded with a Schick twinjector blade. This combination is a winner for me with the three dot plate. Two ATG passes put the baby to bed.

Since I’d be away for a week, I selected my seven favorite vintage straight razors. This morning I grabbed the Wade & Butcher 7/8 for today’s mug shave. And it certainly didn’t disappoint. Three slow, luxurious passes allowed me to put off the snow shoveling task for a few extra minutes. One feature of this morning’s shave was the use of Cremo’s Cooling Shave Cream and Balm. Although this is looked down on by some who like to hang out at the B&B site, I’ve always found their products to be superior to many of the higher priced creams, particularly in slickness, which is ideal for a straight razor shave. While not requiring a shave brush, I always like to apply it with one, just because I enjoy the feel of the brush, and this little Kent punches way above its pay grade. I feel cool, clean, and smoothly velveteen.

RAZOR: Wade & Butcher 7/8 (Mug), SS Supply V2 (Dome)
    BLADE: Schick Injector Twin
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
    BRUSH: Kent Infinity Silvertip
    CREAM: Cremo Cooling
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with Glyce Glycerin soap followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Cremo Cooling AS Balm.

We have some flakes here kinda flying around, showly coming down. It's true isn't it...what happens on Long Island happens in Metro Boston an hour later.

Thanks Patrick! I will have my maiden shave with the R102 tomorrow. I won't commit to using it for the entire week, but I may intersperse it with my Dovo and Parker shavettes.

Glad to see you arrived safely Jeff. Not glad to see you have to shovel snow though. Great choice of gear for traveling. I seen Cremo somewhere here but never bought it. I will pick up a tube someday and give it a go. Have a great day :)

Terrific shave Jeff! Cremo is frowned upon by some members of the shave community, but it does wonders for my headshaves. Be careful shoveling. Have a nice day.

Thank you Joe...it's just a matter of conquering that area that gave me fits today. I just had the disposeABLE today, will combine both again tomorrow.

I'm living large and getting epic shave with the razor I most cherish.

Yea its hard to not use this razor.
I do occasionally work an older model for the heck of it.
Lucky me I still have 1600 feathers in stock here at the ranch.
Hope everyone is still doing great and shaving like you know you love!!!
Busy here, but just in case you thought this crazy guy fell over the cliff, that I like to walk on the edge of.
Still here and using the best of the best in tools!!
    All.
    Take care of yourself.

    Enjoy!
