It's always good to hold back on the scent for the first date. Save the best frag down the road if this date blossoms. However, take my advice with a grain of salt because I am still single at 65 going on 66. Lol!

 

Finally, someone knows how to use that word properly. Yeesh.

 

Early shave, late post......left my phone at home today.

The razor is the PAA aluminum double open comb that I purchased from Clint. However it had a make over and got a polish job. The original handle is being powder coated by a coworker. This handle is from a piece of 1/2 inch aluminum stock that I machined last night and fabricated.

The soap was a gift from Clint when he sent the razor. It is Godrej Rich Foam from India. The 400 Rubberset with the Omega boar knot did not have any problems whipping this stuff up. An almond size dab was more than enough lather for three passes. I really like this cream and it would make an excellent travel cream. I'm going to give it another go in the morning.

The PAA DOC can be adjusted by tightening the handle. Completely locked down and it is not very aggressive. I run it today about a half a turned backed off and found it very efficient and comfortable. The DOC design does hold a lot of water and I had to sling the extra water out when I rinsed the razor. Overall, a very nice and fun shave. The alum was quiet. Finished with some Witch Hazel and a few squirts of American Tobacco by Andy Hilfiger.

Thanks, Bill, for the honest assessment. I do not like hyper sharp edges, so as my son shared, I routinely kill my edge after finishing, and then bring it back on the jasper. The result is the edge you shaved with. It works for me.

My Dad was a bricklayer until his mid-80's (his idea of a vacation was hiking with two armloads of fishing gear along the river bank), and my Bride's Dad was a framer until he was 80. My BC friend just turned 80, and he does a day full of outside chores most every day. He can outwork and out-hike guys half his age.

I move more a lot more now than I did sitting behind a desk at work. I feel 100 times better.
