I feel the need to experiment. I have some denatured alcohol I use, but I would rather get my hands on some Everclear or some really strong cheap vodka. Pure Everclear is not allowed in CA and I don't feel like driving to Arizona or Nevada. Any suggestions or alternatives?
I normally just use vodka (Gordon's) when I make colognes. You could try snow drift farms perfumers alcohol, I hear it's pretty good.
Shep loves when I bump really old threads...Well this is not that old but old for TSD I guess I missed the thread that this spawned off of?
The old thread bump. Gotta love it. I really like the bump of an old "I'm in Chat right now" thread. Those are always classic. Now the mysteries. Did Rich ever get ahold of pure grain alcohol? Did he ever get his pipes cleaned (I could use a little of that myself )? And what ever happened to El Kid? Like sands through the hour glass.....
Everclear will definately clean out the pipes. Also makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside if you can stomach it.
My favorite was when I bumped a thread about some guy wanting to make his own shave soap? We see how that panned out:happy102 The chat ones were funny as well.
Many states that ban Everclear allow residents to purchase industrial alcohol , which is very highly distilled ethyl alcohol, for purposes other than drinking. Normally, you need a special license (that isn't hard to get for smaller quantities) to buy industrial alcohol. I'm not familiar with California law, but it is quite easy in Washington State since we have the state-run liquor stores. If I were you, I'd ask inquire at the California Liquor Control Board, or whatever name they go by.
Be careful with the industrial alcohols. We use ethanol at our school to preserve specimens once they have been injected with formalin. Because pure ethanol is still considered drinkable alcohol (everclear) under the tax laws, our lab doesnt have the cash for it. To get around the tax laws that make the pure alcohol so expensive (despite the fact that we purchase it for industrial use in 55 gallon drums) they add chemicals that make it poisonous. I believe ours has an extremely small percentage of formalin in it to avoid excess taxes. So be careful and make sure that there are no addatives in the pure ethanol.
He suffered an unfortunate incident involving a dishwasher and a rubber chicken after drinking too much Everclear.
