I was under the impression, that a "Frankenrazor" had a different baseplate and top cap.

This morning I decided to take
a few days growth off the noggin and chose the Piccolo with closed comb plate . Not to knock my Rockwell but I think theres a new sherriff in town. This razor rinses effortlessly and when I was done there was nothing stuck to blade . There was no using the toothbrush during the shave either to unclog soap and hair. Stress free relaxing BBS headshave . :) I will report later on the face shave after the R101 arrives 20210212_065912.jpg

There's something about a fine headshave that puts me in a good mood! Awesome headshave Patrick! My Rockwells are great headshavers, but my Schick E3 and my G E Jones Shakesharp are a tad better. Great news on your upcoming mail call!

    Razor: Yates 921 H PROTOTYPE #2
    Blade: Wizamet (2)
    Brush: Sorrentino Orange Crush
Soap: Lakewood SOCP (1508.5 Project on Steroids)
    AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
    AS 2: Nivea 2 into 1 Splash
    Fragrance: PdP No. 63

So I had a different razor up for today's shave but got some Yates Precision parts in and wanted to compare something. An "M" and an "H" PROTO #2 Plate as well as the stock handle came in. I compared the "H PROTO #2" and an "H" Plates and they are IDENTICAL (ONLY difference is the corners taken off the production plate) so I can only assume this is the one that went to production. See comparison pics below and you be the judge.

I decided to shave with it and found it to be exactly the same as the "H" plate. I won't need both and my intent was to get the handle with "M" Plate and sell a complete spare razor with parts I already had but it is kinda cool to have the Prototype of one of my favorite razors. The shave was spectacular and the ring continues to grow albeit at a slow pace now............uggghh. Have a swell Day Everyone !!

Thanks Pat, but it could morph into another razor.........The original tester had sellers regret from hen he let it go and reached out to me as he'd like to buy it back. I'm on the fence about it.....

That's a different circumstance there Dave . I could see selling it back to him whereas he was the tester and you bought it from him :)

Well actually I bought from the member he sold it to. He is a good guy though and I know how I was when I was in the same situation and got to buy back a prototype I was a tester for. Still have it now. I will probably offer to him on condition I get it back if he ever sells again.

Happy Friday Everyone. I stayed with the R102 today but went with MWF for a Fat Friday Shave. The 30DC LE boar did a wonderful job loading and lathering. Three passes and touch ups ended in another drama free BBS. A splash of Fine Green Vetiver and I am off to a client site for the day. I hope everyone has a great Friday.

I too would want to keep the prototype but would end up doing as you suggested. Good Karma pays off in the end. At least I hope it does.
