I'd go for it. If a cop pulled me over, I'd respectfully and politely explain that my car has been on blocks for the last 3 months, and I'm directly on my way to get it inspected. If you do this politely, and respectfully (don't say, "Well Barny, if you'll put your bullet back in your pocket and get you butt out of my way, I'll get this thing inspected in a day or two!"), any cop worth his salt should let you go on your way.

Also, take the kids...tell them to look terrified about being pulled over. Have them say stuff like "Are we going to jail, Daddy? You can have my piggy bank to pay the ticket, Daddy" etc.

As long as you drive fast enough, they will never know you have an expired tag. :D

No, it isn't worth it if you can wait until tomorrow. I wonder if you have a bill of sale with you if you have a certain time frame to get inspected and put new tags on a recently purchased vehicle in TX.

Yeah, if it was our only vehicle, and it had to be done now, I'd definitely go for it. With insurance, bill of sale, etc, I'd suspect any pull-over would be rather short, but fortunately it's not a necessary risk, so no big deal.

Taking the kids to kung-fu panda 2, then swimming.
Might go to Best Buy or Verizon, see what I can do with this phone.
Problem is, it's inconsistent. Sometimes it'll work perfectly for a long time, then freezes, reboots, no response, etc. Hardly enough for them to consider it a serious problem by their standards and do something about it.
I'm a-feared I may be stuck with it, unless I can sell my old car...

Just finished grading Friday's tests and labs that were turned in last week. (been grading for 4 hours with occasional breaks). Daughter decided that today is a LOTR marathon. The Balrog is about to make an appearance. Time to go watch.

Edit: I am so out of it between the illness and the 3 day weekend that I don't know what day was which.. ugh

I'll have to give it a try again. I've been a die hard FireFox user for years now until recently when it got too bloated and I started using Chrome. Only Chrome don't work so well and I've been using IE of all things.
on an unrelated note, I have a bump that looks like a parasitic twin growing out of the side of my neck. Can't decide if I should try and shave around it or wait til it goes away.

When I upgraded to FF 4.0 one of my credit union websites didn't like it. The browser force closed everytime I entered my password. Weird. I tried installing it several times over the past couple months to see if they fixed the bug. Never has worked so I've been sticking w/ version 3.whatever it was. I guess if they're already up to 5.0 I'll give it another go. I likes me the FF.

Working today which sucks since the whole family is home enjoying the day off. But we're having a meat fry on the BBQ here at work. Mmmmmm...meat! So there is that...

One thing I've found with FF is that installing the IE tab plug-in is an absolute must. When using it, you get IE functionality on "optimized" for IE sites with the FF interface.

Well, I think I did it...I think I squashed the "I want one" reaction to a tablet computer.
I started out that way, scoffing at Jobs and laughing at the ipad, but just like good little brainwashed victims, they cleared the shelves of the ipad, and other makers followed suit.
Don't get me wrong, I'd still like one, but I'm back to where I started, finally, at the "it's nice, I'm a techy person so of course I'd like one, but I really don't see the role it fills" type of stance.
So, back to normal, for now........

Kung Fu Panda 2 was pretty good, and the door is left wide open for a 3rd

So, I've actually got a full roster of movies I want to see this summer, as opposed to the past several where it was mostly "meh".
Transformers 3, Cowboys and Aliens, Pirates 4 (check), Captain America, Thor (may be too late for that); have a feeling we'll be seeing Cars 2 and whatever that Jim Carrey movie about penguins is.
Seems there were more, but maybe they ended up later in the year

All this browser talk inspired me to go ahead and tell Opera to update to 11.11. So far, I don't see a major difference.

In other news, I picked up a new grass whip today... the L-shaped kind. Gave it a few practice swings when I got home, and it looks like it's going to do the trick for cleaning away the blackberry brambles from around the house. I'm anxious to see how it does in some of the thicker stuff around the well-house.

Jim - I'd definitely recommend Thor if you get a chance. I rarely see movies in the theater, but the guys from work were going to Thor while out of town so I tagged along. I'm also with you on Captain America. I'll wait for video for Cowboys and Aliens and Pirates 4. I'm yet to see a Transformers movie and really wouldn't want to go to the theater for this.

There is something beeping every 90 seconds in my office and I cannot find it.

Thought it was the fax machine, but after unplugging it, the beeping continues.

    I may go insane shortly.

    ****

Edit. Found it after 41 minutes. It is the alarm keypad saying it needs a new battery. It's outside the office by the front door and I still keep hearing it.

Ugh. I know it's not PSPT, but it feels like it.

yeah. the box for our fire alarm system is right outside my office. it has some issues and every now and then will go off for no real reason. it's enough to make a sane person schizophrenic. Just imagine what it does to me! :happy102

anyway, now that we seem to have banned the use of "monday", we must substitute PSPT: "PSPT is a state of mind, and not a day. So if it feels like PSPT then it is."
