  1. Yup, I'm anxious to try combining Sous Vide and smoking. Come spring I'll need to get another truck load of hickory as I'm out right now.

  2. I'll keep that in mind but My all time favorite and best I've ever experienced Lime Aftershave is Avon Island Lime. I have 2 bottle and am always watching for more.

  3. Sorry Joe, I was referring to where I lived in Levittown, PA and still have family there.

  5. Very nice gear, Gary. It is all from the UK? If so, might I suggest a vintage Wilkie? I think you have some...

  6. That is Ok. I am sure Levittown PA is much nicer than my Levittown.

  12. Good plan, Jeff. No need to rush home if the weather could be dicey. It is best to be safe, and another day of rest leading into a 14-hour drive is a good thing. Anything more than a 10-hour drive is tough stuff, and I imagine the traffic gets crazy as you approach PA.

The next few days here in our neck 'o the woods will include periodic freezing rain. We juggled some activities around this week to avoid driving on the worst days. I don't mind driving on slick roads, but it bothers my Bride too. She's already questioning some appointments we have next Thursday. She's way smarter than me, so I do better when I take her advice. Plus, when we're hanging around the house, she makes party mix, bourbon hot dogs, sausage balls, and Southern sweet tea to snack on between our 3 squares and pots of coffee. ;)

  13. Smart man with wise words...........................now tell me more about the Bourbon Hot Dogs please !!

  14. Dave, my Bride adds sliced hot dogs to a crock pot with a half-cup each of bourbon, ketchup/BBQ sauce, and brown sugar. A couple of hours on the high setting will do the trick. I'm sure you could tweak the flavor by adding your favorite ingredients. It's popular at our family get togethers, and it makes the house smell good.

I turn into Snuffles every time my Bride gets the crock pot out...

  15. Sounds close to the recipe for "Slow Cooker Bourbon Drunken Dogs" I Googled. Thanks, I've got to try these !!

  16. @jluc it's normal to have second thoughts as your retirement date approaches. Nearly everyone I know that has retired has been very happy with their decision. I'm willing to bet you'll do better financially than your financial planner projects. As others have said, focus on what you'd like to do. I'm betting this will be you on week # 2 of retirement. The first week will be spent getting all your stuff together.

Seriously, take a deep breath, relax, and enjoy this time in your life. :)

  17. I think you'll like it, Dave! Let me know if you decide to tweak the recipe. Our last batch included Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce for the first time. Before that, we just used ketchup. Depending on what kind of flavor you're looking for, I bet a few shakes of Louisiana Hot Sauce, Worcestershire, and diced onions would be good too.

  20. Thanks, Jason! Due to weather and my fraidy cat bride, we probably won’t be leaving until Sunday or Monday! Dang! :angry017:
