It's another great face and headshave for the Ol' Professor! I am still laughing at the Canine Adventures of Gromit the Wonder Dog!

The set and forget is nice. They are also great at precisely holding temps. Mine hold to within a tenth of a degree. I've found the perfect temp for steaks to my liking is 128°. Perfect every time. Same with chicken, I would always overcook it because I was afraid of undercooking it. No worries with the Sous Vide.

I haven't shaved yet. I'll be back to return the thread to its regularly scheduled programming.

Thanks, Clint! I think it’s the best out there, and they don’t sell your data as the other apps do, most notoriously, the Weather Channel!

Thanks, Joe! I really need to get back home! Boy do I miss broadband! I teach a graduate zoom seminar and had to postpone a class while we were here, just untenable with DSL! And to think I used to be impressed by it back in the phone modem 80s! Gromit is currently outside with his two buddies tearing up the local squirrel population! At least one of the three of us has been having a great time!

    Good morning guys!

    Mühle R102 head/ Rockwell handle
    Rockwell DE Blade (1)
    Stirling Boar Brush
    RazorRock Classic Shave Soap
    Old Spice P/G AS
    Dickenson's WH
    Nivea for Men ASB
    Whiskers: 38 hrs

I have been using my makeshift scuttle to create my lather and I am enjoying it because it makes a nice, creamy, warm lather. The RazorRock Classic has that marzipan scent that I like. I decided to go with a new Rockwell blade to load in my R102 Frankenrazor. The difference in this blade compared to the Feather is quite evident. The razor was still very aggressive, but it felt much smoother with the Rockwell blade. I was on autopilot with this razor and got a BBS shave with 2 passes. There wasn't any blood nor irrittation. This was the best shave with the R102. This shave was just as smooth and comfortable as if I was using a straight razor. Applied the witch hazel, the balm and the Old Spice to end the session. Did feel some tingling from the aftershave, but I didn't mind.
    Have an awesome Saturday fellas!

Dark Sky is one of the best weather apps on iOS. They’re now owned by Apple actually. Unfortunately if you are an android user, it no longer works (back since July 2020).

Before that was Weather Underground, but….several years ago they were bought by the Weather Channel, and it’s all about data collection and ads now.

Best radar app, RadarScope, but there is a subscription fee. Next app used is Lightning Pro, also a subscription. But…when set up correctly, I get notifications enough in advance to never deal with getting $$$$$ camera gear wet. I can know if it’s 2 hours away or 5 minutes away.

Very nice shave Joe. Can't recall but did you use the Muhle blade that came with the razor yet?

Jim, how long do you broil or grill your steak after the Sous Vide process?

Just a word of caution. I know that you know this, but there isn't a need to put pressure on this razor especially with a Feather in it. In fact, I remind myself to be light as a Feather when I use those blades.

Thanks Patrick! I only used the Feather blade for the 3 prior shaves. I seemed to misplaced the blade or threw it out. Lol!

Thanks . I used zero pressure today and the Muhle glided ever so nicely. Interesting as I start to experiment with blades in my last razor acquisitions. Planning on 2 head 2 face then bin the blade and try another.

Great shave summary, Joe! I've never used a Rockwell blade, but it’s clear you really like them! Glad your shave went well! You probably wouldn’t like a Kai blade. It’s a little wider than a Feather, and just about as sharp!

It's no slouch of a blade . Nice smooth shave with no irritation. Dont know who makes them but they are pretty decent.

    I use a flame thrower!
Never actually timed it but probably less than 30 seconds per side. The nice thing about the flame thrower is that I can evenly sear every surface of the steak so quickly that I don't affect the internal temp of my steak. Drawback is it's not something I would use indoors.

They’re made by Timor, a German brand that may be owned wholly or partially by Muhle, not sure! I like Timor blades and had 50 of them a few years ago. I’m down to one tuck.
