Broiling is something I just watch. Flip the steaks or whatever meat when I get the desired sear. I use a piece of foil folded up thick enough to prop the oven door open so the heating element won't cycle on and off to get the sear done as quickly as possible.

Thank you Jeff! When I first started wetshaving, I was using the VDH TTO razor with their blades. Obviously, I upgraded to my second razor, the Rockwell 6C and I purchased 100 blades with it. From day one, I never had a problem with these blades. Admittedly, they have a bad rap because they are not as sharp as other blades, but my skin and beard takes to them very well. Looking back, it was very fortuitous of me to use these blades as I was learning to use my Dovo shavette. The blades were very forgiving for this former newbie. My only complaint is that they are 15 dollars per 100. I think a more reasonable price would be 12 dollars. Would I buy them again? No because I feel they are overpriced. Also, I have used Personna Hairshaper and Feathers in my shavettes so that there isn't any need to buy Rockwells. I am almost halfway through my stash that I will eventually buy other blades. I probably get Astra and Nacets.

    Karve “F” SB
    Feather
    Rudy Vey Rover
    AOS Lavender Shave Cream
    Fine Lavender Pour Homme Aftershave

Back on the mission to sink the AOS Lavender shave cream after a MWF Fat Friday shave. I had planned to use the Muhle R102 today and already had a photo taken. However, all the talk of the Karve and different plates changed my mind. I decided to shave with the Karve F safety bar plate and loaded with a Feather Blade. This would allow me to compare the Karve setup to the vaulted 2013 R41 razor. The Karve delivered a wonderfully smooth and drama free BBS shave. There is much less blade feel with the Karve but absolutely no decrease in efficiency from my prospective. The Karve delivered the same results in a smoother shaving and easier to use razor. After spending over a week with the Muhle I will revise the Tatara Nodachi. Maybe the Muhle will help me finally enjoy the Nodachi to its fullest potential. I hope everyone has a fantastic Saturday.

@jluc and @b1hart You guys already had me filling up my Father's Day wish list with cooking goodies. Now I need to add a sous vide and flame thrower to the list. :D I so need those things in the kitchen.

Interesting comparison Clint between Karve and the 102. I'm over joyed with the R101 shave today. I didn't seem to notice the blade feel much it maybe the blade was milder than the Feather.

    Oh yeah!!!
Every man needs to have a flame thrower as part of his cooking arsenal.

The Muhle is a fantastic razor. For me it does have a good bit of blade feel compared to most of my other razors. If you love the R101 you will like really like the F plate. The Karve safety bar does not rinse as easily as the Muhle. Perhaps the OC plate would solve that problem.

    February 13th
    Razor: Timeless .95 SC
    Blade: Feather NHS (1)
    Brush: Grizzly Bay Constitution
    Pre-shave: PAA Cube
    Soap: Noble Otter Two Kings
    PAA Galactic Witch Hazel
    PAA Star Jelly
    AS: Noble Otter Two Kings

Onto my next Timeless razor. The .95 in stainless steel with scalloped safety bar. Wow, what a shave! Three passes for near BBS with just the faintest tickle from the alum in the hollows of my neck. Comparing with the last two Timeless razors the .95 has the least amount of blade feel. Superbly smooth!

    Have a great day!
