no kidding! that sucks! I love my Muehle- sorry to hear yours broke. At least the concert was good.

    that also sucks!

Same here. Except I've never liked their sound. I've always been more of a metalhead. Yeah, there's some irony there, given my vocation. Even more ironic when you consider that my church was the one that developed the U2charist.

Well, I started on St. John's Wort today.

I haven't taken any for over 12 years.

I can't really tell a difference yet, but I'm expecting it to take a few days to get into my system. I decided to actually use some of my vacation time and try to recharge my batteries. I'm taking next week off. I'm sick of not being me, and I'm tired of feeling down in the dumps. Maybe getting away from work will do the thing. If you guys & gals would, please keep me in your prayers.

I'm in need of a large, cast iron surface to stand up and bang my head against for awhile

Well, I hate to add to the run of bad luck, but I just need to get something off my chest. I haven't mentioned it here, but my Mother recently had a quadruple bypass and valve replacement. The surgery went well, but now that she's in recovery, things keep getting worse. A bad infection, then pneumonia, now a blood infection. The worst part is that I can't even see her since I'm in Washington and the rest of the family is in California. I'm looking into tickets now, but it's going to be a few more weeks until I can get down there. I'm so thankful for the Den, it's one of the few things that takes my mind off of it.
In related sympathy, I've both been stuck with a broken well and been stuck in heat with no AC, so I can relate.

so sorry to hear about your mom, I'll add her to my prayer list.

a/c, wells, cars, finances, all that crap is 1st world problems, as Micah so eloquently put it.
They're inconveniences, things we've come to rely on, but truly insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

But family isn't. Hope you're able to go see her soon

Sorry to hear about your Mom having medical troubles, Noah. Hope she heals quickly, and you manage to get down there to see her.

Prayers all around from me. What a rough week for so many here.

In hopes sharing something good from my life will lift some of you up:

I presented a proposal for some upgrades to the boss at the fairly new job today to make some temporary upgrades I and a co-worker added for cheap (but with equipment that won't last or work during the winter) permanent. He loved the proposal and wants me to order the new equipment right away. Further the improvements the system is making were the highlight for my group in the company at the board meeting held yesterday. Yeah, I'm feeling pretty good right now.

    Awesome!

Well, the guy came by and checked the freon, was only a little low, but enough to cause problems, he filled it back up, and so far the lines haven't frozen again - however, it's taking quite awhile to cool down. I guess that's to be expected, so I'll try to be patient....

Thanks everybody, I usually can deal w/things like this better, and getting it out helped a lot. After I pay rent I should be able to pick up a flight for a couple hundred if I book it two or three weeks in advance. My girlfriend is starting a new job with more pay and better hours on PSPT, so that should help too.

Well... went for my morning walk with the dog and wish I hadn't.

Shortly after reaching the 1/2 mile point, my arm started to feel weird. At first it felt like it was being hit by wet branches. But then again, I actually was being hit by wet branches occasionally. I didn't think much about it other that it felt like I was being hit a lot more than usual. I shifted further over away from the brush. But then the sensation continued. I rubbed my arm to dry it off from any residual water and the problem got better. And then it changed... Now instead of feeling like I was constantly getting hit by wet branches, it felt like an occasional smack with something more significant. Eventually it changed again to feeling like I was getting a random electric jolt between my elbow and wrist at random intervals. After I got home everything was fine. I loaded up the car and went to work without any problems. Then, when lifting the cooler out of the car, I had several of those jolts at once. I must have really torqued that nerve in some way. Either that or some invisible prankster keeps smacking my funny bone while I am not looking. Very very odd....
