I recognized about 1/2 of the songs. I just never found sierra games to be favorites.

Wore a pedometer to cut the grass today, 14,738 steps (just over 7 miles) over 3.5 hours. Still have run the weed eater, but that might just wait until tomorrow

whoa! what a brilliant idea! never thought to try that, I'll have to keep that in mind.

in other news, A/C guy came to the house last night, added some freon, and the unit ran all night and so far today without freezing - that's the good news.
the bad news is, it's still not cooling below 78 degrees....still much better than 88, but it's running non-stop and not going below 78...still a problem.
    Waiting on return call....

Well some semi good news, I got my vacation approved for a couple weeks from now and if I can keep my multiple ADs in check the tickets to go see my mom should be affordable. Hopefully she'll be out of the hospital by then, but with all the complications, I'm not counting on that too much. Just knowing that I'll be down should really boost her morale. I other news it's really nice out today have in the great northwest, so nice intact that half of my crew called in sick. Worked out for me though. since I had to drive a lift all day, it really kept my mind off of things.

A/C guy just left, everything from a technical standpoint looks good and normal, the air coming out of the vents are a cool 62°, while the air going into the return vent is a balmy 79°, which he says is a good temp difference.

So, exactly what the problem is, he's not sure...wants to try swapping the fan inside, seems to think it's running slow, and I have to admit, it does seem to sound slower than in the past, but then again, that's going by indirect recall, since I've never really paid much attention to how loud/fast the fan has spun, as long as it worked.
All the vents are good, I held a lighter up to each and every one and it blew the flame out, even at the farthest end, so no blockages.

Real headshaker, and even though I know this system is probably kicking on it's last legs, I really can't afford the $3-5K it's gonna cost to replace it all.

Really need that second job soon

All I have is a floor unit AC. Granted it's not nearly as hot here in WA as it is in TX, but I'm a wimp when it comes to heat. The only thing nice about my trip to TX coming sometime in July or August is the hotel has great AC... and waffles, think they did away with the free beer though.

Just sent a rough-draft proof of concept image to an author who is a friend of a friend. He's working on a very secretive project, and I might have an opportunity to do the cover art for one book, or possibly part of the cover art for a potential series of books.

I wasn't given any real detail about the characters, or the plot, just a very vague concept of what he's looking for for the medallion on the book, and the name of the series. I took what I knew of the other books he's written and pulled together an image that I think looks good. I have no delusions that he's going to want to use the image I sent, but maybe it will give him an idea of what I can do. I threw it together in about 45 minutes, but I still think it looks great and would look right at home next to any pulp novel from the '60s.

I'm anxious to hear what he has to say.

I'd love to share a picture with you, but I'm going to hold off on that until I get some kind of firm word from the author.

Ughh!!! Water will be out for up to 3 weeks, potable water truck will be coming on Monday. Gotta tell you I'm not liking this semi-Amish lifestyle I'm leading right now. Amazing how we take our running water for granted.:(

Man that sucks about the well. I'll always have a love hate relationship with them. I always remember having the best tasting water from ours. I also remember loosing that great tasting water every time the power went out. The power goes out alot in the foothills of the sierra nevadas. So as much as I hate the taste of the pool water that comes out of my tap now, I at least have it... and power. Think I'll stick with civilization.

You know, it's always been my experience that the well always breaks on the coldest day of the year... so I guess the upside to all this is that we don't have to worry about a harsh winter this year.

Seriously though, no water sucks. I feel for you.

just checked my gmail, my invitation to Google Music awaited me :happy108

....now what to do with it? :D
    I'm kidding, of course.

Life lately, sheesh....kicks you in the gonads one second, then brings you lemonade the next; back and forth, forth and back.
Such a Machiavellian critter, life is.....well, for those that look upon it that way, that is.
I don't personally, but it's been an interesting observation here lately :D

Thankfully my parents live about 6 miles from me, so at least I can go over there to shower, shave, and do laundry.

Okay all you F...antastic Firefox Fanatics, have any of you ever encountered the phenomena where you must continually move your mouse to get a page to render? TWGW is having this issue, and I was wondering if there is an easy fix for this.

You know what would be groovy? An app to turn a tablet into a viewfinder for a digital camera.
    Surely there's a way

coincidentally, Jim, Thor is showing at the $1.50 movies in Dangerfield. We ought to plan a double date. For like 8 bucks you can both get in, split a big popcorn and have a couple of medium drinks. It's about as cheap a date as you can get.

Sounds pretty good... don't think my lovely bride is too interested in Thor though

Tell her Chris Hemsworth is in it and he's totally ripped. If it helps, Kenneth Brannagh, easily one of the greatest Shakespearian directors of all time, directed it. That ought to count for something.

Had a bit of a breakdown today. So I upped my dosage to two pills a day. I can already start to tell a bit of a difference since starting on the SJW, but I still don't quite feel like myself. I feel all broken inside. It's kind of hard to explain. I think it's going to take some time and some soul searching to work this one out.
