I have the metal handle set. I believe Fuzzy said he preferred the bakelite. Awesome shave today Dave
Great Karve shave, Danny! The mildest Karve plate I own is the C_SB which while having a narrow gap is still highly efficient! The Karve is just an excellently engineered safety razor! I’ll have to pull mine out over the next few days!
Awesome shaves! Glad you made it home. I would have turned the hearing aids down prior to the trip. Lol!
On the second day of the TN trip I ended up doing almost a one and a half gainer on the icy driveway I'd shoveled. I’m glad I learned how to fall backwards in martial arts training decades ago by slapping the surface one’s falling on. Just ended up with a slightly bruised shoulder. My bride was going to call 911 as she saw it happen, but I managed to calm her down!
Love the colors and photo Pierpaolo. They brightened up a dreary day here in Atlanta. Awesome shave and report Jeff. I am glad you guys made it home without any issues Great looking shave Danny. I am so glad we seem to me missing the cold front here in the ATL. Excellent photos and shave report Joseph. I am sure you will get the edge sorted out shortly.
Sorry the shave didn’t go as well as you wished, Joseph, but a frowning new Dovo is not that uncommon. Glen Mercurio has an excellent video on how to remove a frown from a Dovo. Glad you succeeded in doing it yourself. Here’s his video just FYI:
Thank you Jeff. I am just not going to ever love the razor and I have too many that I do love to keep this one around. Thank you Joe. I am sure I could get it sorted out but I just don't want to spend the time when I could be enjoying shaves with that time.
We have a Winter Storm Warning with possibly eight or more inches in the forecast through tomorrow. More snow and single digits are expected later in the week. Side streets still have icy patches leftover from last week. It's been a while since we've had this much fun. I'm wearing short pants and a t-shirt in the house today in protest. We're stocked up on vittles (15 bean soup cooking right now) and Tabac, so I think we'll be OK. I enjoyed an early morning shave yesterday with my R41 before heading out to the grocery and post office ahead of today's storm. The Feather blade on the third shave was the smoothest and most comfortable yet. I will likely skip today's shave, but I did start off the morning with some TDH. I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. Happy Presidents' Day to my fellow countrymen. Everyone else, it's Monday, so please get to work.
I'm glad you, Lauren, and Gromit made it home safely, Jeff. At least the Family Truckster is a comfy and stylish ride.
I just replaced the Wilkie Sword blade in my razor with another Astra. Bad cut at the jawline was the fact that led to this. I went 4/5 of the first pass of the shave with the Red Tip, then the remaining 1 1/5 with the disposeABLE.I did the math. I'd say the Astra is the best blade for me to work with on the RT...I can see what kind of technique fits with this tool. Good Stoylin lather, at least. Nice job everywhere else(but the jawline, separating Cactus Nation with Porcupine Alley.) The Bill Neumann "1907-"their signature scent-is quite nice. Similar to a degree to Stoylin Sandpiper. The cut moves the shave down to Pretty Excellent.
