So, a few things I've forgotten to mention:

Got a few new acquisitions last week (or the week before).

First up, Mitchell's Wool Fat bath soap. I already love the shave soap, and wanted to try the bath soap for my kids. We've known our daughter has and would deal with eczema, but we recently found out our son was going to deal with another skin issue, not exactly the same stuff, but related.
I'd already gotten my girl some oatmeal soap to try, and it seems to be better than the chemically bars and liquids we've always gotten, and seems to work pretty well.
Well, soap finally got in, and my wife tried it first.....I think she's sold! :D
My daughter likes it too, and I must say I'm rather fond of it as well.

Next up, the first shave brush I wanted to get when I was looking at the badger and boar blends, the Omega Mighty Midget, 21047 model.
When I was looking many moons ago, the listing only showed it as a boar, so I emailed Gary at Shoebox Shave Shop, and his response that it was pure setola, boar. So I went with the Vulfix 404 Grosvenor, which I don't regret at all.
When I was recently perusing his site, I noticed the description had changed - and confirmed that it is indeed the mix hair brush I was considering.
When it finally arrived, I discovered the true meaning of "badger funk"! It is the first brush I've had that truly had the funk smell to it.
    Oh my goodnplenty!
Well, a few shampoos and a lather with Borax and the funk is gone (from the brush, the funk in the music still lives!), and now I must say, that sucker is TINY!!! The knot, the handle, the whole thing is compact. It'll be an excellent travel brush, but it's gonna get plenty of use at home, too. Great little brush, I'd recommend it if you're interested in mixed hair brush (and the Grosvenor is awesome too!)

In other news, wife and I went to Best Buy last week, my daughter saw the XBox 360 + Kinect setup (guess what they're already asking for ).

Anyway, they had a dance game setup, to Micheal Jackson's Thriller, and my daughter, being in dance, loving dance, and quite good at it already, sorely wanted to have a chance.

The guy that was there (about my age) finished, and shouted that he finally got the high score of around 93,000, on his third try. His daughter was next in line, and in her 4th try beat her dad with a score of about 95,000.

My daughter was very antsy by now, so badly wanting her turn, and got in the little blue box taped out on the floor, grinning ear to ear.

The music started, and she started following the motions with much exuberance.

I got distracted for a few moments playing with the Nook (do I really want to try this thing as an Android tablet, or just wait?) (the answer has become very apparent since then to wait...no option otherwise, though, either).

Song ended, daughter winded, and the score pops up....in her first try - both playing that game, and playing with the Kinect, and playing an XBox (not that those latter two really matter, but still somewhat relevant), she OBLITERATED the other guy and daughter's scores, over 106,000!

Yeup, guess we gotta start saving up....

    Micah, Jim...

I'm already in the know about Friday... its a no go. One of the phone calls I had to return was 'business' on Friday, so I'm going to have to request another day.

After about 10 seconds on this thing, a message would have appeared on the screen that asked that someone with more rhythm than a corpse please step up to the pad. My score: -15.

Yeah, I'm out, too. The accountant says "no."

I get paid in a couple of weeks, that'd be a great time to do a spoliation run!

Well....the last post I made in this topic was on the 2nd about how my Muhle razor handle broke. I contacted Muhle about it and today when I checked my e-mail, I had an email from the company saying a new handle is on the way!

Talk about a good way to finish the day!!:D:D:D

    Love it!

It has been miserably warm in my apartment. The A/C has been running 24/7 and the temperature has been slowly rising to upper 80's. Finally the weather started cooling off last night and we opened all the windows as soon as the outside temp matched the apartment temp. It is the upper 60's outside now and the apartment is still in the low 80's. It just won't cool off. Makes me wonder if the apartment below us has their heat running.

A late day at work, followed by an early morning at work can suck. Otherwise, all is good.

    I do feel your pain.
Even after 2 visits from the A/C man, ours still doesn't go below 78 during the day....yes, I agree, it's quite hot, but even in the past it would run hard until it hit the desired temperature and then stop, but it runs almost non-stop during the day.

I'm about tempted to put the thermostat I replaced a few months ago back on it and see if that's the problem, which would suck if it is, because it's been rather nice to have the programmable 'stat, but maybe it's not compatible with the A/C? It worked fine with the furnace, but maybe there's something with this older unit that don't like the newer controller.

Ugh. Came home from work a little early with a tore up stomach. Hopefully its just something I ate. At least this morning started with a really great shave.

Last day of this school year with students. Just three more classes to go and then it is just paperwork and busywork for the rest of the week.

have you ever watched "The Jerk" with Steve Martin? You know how he doesn't have any rhythm? Well, Steve stole that bit from me. I'd be in the -100 category with that gadget.

very nice! if that doesn't work, let me know. I have a couple of generic handles sitting around that might work for you.

you're in Indiana and you're talking about heat? I do hear you though. Broken air conditioners suck.

upset stomachs suck too. At least the shave was good!

There's no pad to step away from, like the Dance-Dance Revolution stuff, this the the Microsoft Kinect, the camera thingie that sees your motions and translates it to controls in the game, so you're literally doing the Thriller dance (or whatever dance is up), you're entire body has to hit every move exactly to get the perfect score for each move, not just hitting the correct arrows at the correct time - hand movements, shoulder movements, feet movements, everything.
    It's pretty darn cool actually

Nice. I'd be tempted to commission an artistic representation of myself, IF I didn't know better :D

Ugh, hope it is too. We've had a little bug running around here lately, hasn't been too bad as of yet, but it's still annoying.
Hope you get over it soon

    A couple of thoughts:

    1) I loathe when I have to go to the county tax office, for the obvious reasons, primarily because it usually means a non-trivial amount of my income is being left there...

...however, it is so totally worth it because:

    2) I almost always get to deal with the same lady each time I go, and Oh My Goodnplenty....:drool

ehh.. negative e^pi^(pi^e) here with some more points deducted for geekery as well.

Well yeah, it gets hot here. We had a string of 90+ days with temps hitting 100 this week. Yeah, I know. That isn't real heat to all of y'all. However, to us that is hot. Now, 24 hours later and it is a more comfortable 53 outside. The apartment is finally cooling down.
