Super shave and congrats on deep-sixing the AoS Lavender Clint. Glad the storm didn't affect you. We are having rain and it's in the 40's so most of the snow should be gone.

Poured rain last night until it got cold enough to freeze on the roads overnight. Woke to 20 degrees and frozen roads. Changed to flurries this morning that now has everything covered and and collecting.

Bourbon dogs were good and a hit with the wife, Thanks

Top 5's is something I'll do after I go thru things. That's the problem, right now I couldn't tell you as some hasn't been touched in months. I was at 130ish soaps and been down to 50ish now which I'd like to half. I will go thru razors and decide what goes and what stays and do a list when I have some conclusive decisions made. I'm at a point that really everything I have is great but just TOO much of a good thing is useless if it sits.....Have a great and safe day !

That was me 3 years ago as the first 10 years in this hobby I was paying off all debt. After 3 years of buying whatever I wanted I'm at a different spot on my journey in the hobby now. Enjoy your journey and I'll enjoy/encourage it while watching it ;)

16 degrees in Alabama this morning with a good dusting of snow. :Animatedfrozensmily: I made it to work with no problems.

I brought out the 1924 EverReady shovel head on the Weber bulldog for this shave. A 10-32 x 1/2 set screw is all you need to mount a newer handle on the shovel head. This is the loudest razor out there....period....this thing will talk to you. Three beautiful smooth passes and I'll call this a BBS. I really love the shovel heads.....such fun razors.

A little Witch Hazel followed by another Big Lots dupe of something. Oh well...it's smells nice.

Stay warm and take care gentlemen!

SOTD TUESDAY MORNING, FEBRUARY 16, 2021

This morning I removed the Softguard AC blade from my DX and replaced it with a Feather Super AC to remain consistent with the Feather Super in my Blackland Vector. Every now and then it’s fun to challenge one’s straight razor technique. The focus for my mug shave this morning was lightness of touch. Feather Super blades are a smidge wider and seem sharper than regular Feather and Schick Proline AC blades since they extend a bit farther out of the blade clasp on the DX.

The Feather DX shaves like a very sharp straight, thus the reason for my focus. Trusting in my forearm weights, I slowly began my regular three pass regime with the intent of avoiding the set down errors my use of a Feather Super in the DX has been prone to in the past. Feeling in a Lime mood, I retrieved the Castle Forbes from under the sink and had at it. Heeding the Traveling Wilbury’s “Handle with Care” playing in the background, I ended up with a smooth as a baby’s bum result.

I foolishly sold my Cobra Classic two years ago, and regret it to this day. The Oren that I replaced it with was bulky and clumsy to shave with. So I sold that and purchased a Blackland Vector, one of the best shaving acquisitions I've ever made. This extremely slim profiled head is the shaving equivalent of a fine Italian or English sportscar. Two slow, careful ATG dome passes opened the door to that wonderful velveteen smoothness I just can’t seem to stop touching periodically during the course of the day! I feel refreshed, clean, and porcelain smooth!

RAZOR: Feather DX (Mug), Blackland Vector AC Safety Razor (Dome)
BLADE: Feather Super AC (Mug & Dome)
BRUSH: MrEE Knurled Aluminum Handle Hybrid Knot #007
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
    CREAM: Castle Forbes Lime
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with Glyce Glycerin soap followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Royall Lyme AS/Cologne.

    Good morning fellas!

    Shavette shave #244
    Dovo Shavette
    Rockwell 1/2 DE Blade (4)
    Semogue Super Badger Brush
    Stirling Glastonbury SS and AS
    Dickenson's WH ( not pictured )
Nivea for Men ( not pictured )
    Whisker Growth: 41 hours

I am finally back to straight/shavette shaving once again. I have been continuing with the hot water shaves using my "scuttle". Stirling Glastonbury SS is not a bright scent, but it does smell nice. I created a nice creamy, slick lather with my Semogue badger brush.. Since I have been using this lathering method, I have been painting rather than scrubbing the lather on my face. Personally, scrubbing or painting works for me. Did two passes without touchups for a BBS - shave. However, I got a real nick (memory line) on my chin bottom during my first pass. I laughed because it's been a very long time since I nicked myself. Weepers I get, nicks rarely appear, but today the memory line made an appearance. I landed straight on the point of the chin instead of angling it properly. It happened because I was not focused. Sometimes, I need to stop pushing the autopilot. Anyway, it didn't deter me from getting a good shave. Under my old system, I would grade it a B+. The postshave ritual calmed the nick somewhat and I finished with the matching aftershave. Have a good day guys! 20210215_202458.jpg
