    February 17

MÜHLE R41 '13 head w/Satin SS Mongoose Big Bomber handle
    Gillette Silver Blue (1)
30 Day Crew LE Figured Maple handle w/APShaveCo Tuxedo bulb knot
Tabac soap in the Philly Container
Alum, Witch hazel, USB, Almond oil, CC Bay Rum AS & Aramis Tobacco Reserve

The R41 made quick work of three or four days of growth in one pass plus a few touch-ups. I have a darn fine shave and then some, and the alum was nearly silent. I think my skin appreciated a few days off, and it's satisfying to transform oneself from Grizzly Adams to Agent 007 in ten minutes. I wish we had tickets to the Lincoln Center tonight, but I don't think Homer and Jethro are touring this year. Sadly, my tux is not seeing much use this winter.

The Aramis Tobacco Reserve is an absolute winner. I'm thankful, again, to our resident fraghead @Primotenore for the wonderful recommendation.

It's cold, cold, cold today, but the sun is shining! We have another Winter Weather Advisory that begins this evening, but we're only expected to get 2" or less of additional snow. Enjoy your day, and stay warm & safe!

    Grace and Peace.

Thanks Danny! I didn't have a problem with this cream. I will use it when I want a change from regular soaps. If I am in a hurry, I also have Cremo because it is a brushless cream. However, I have enough soap to last me for years so I won't use the Mühle Sandalwood Shaving Cream too often.

    Thanks, Dave!
Hot tap water affects the appearance of the lather some but not at all like using boiling hot water. At those temps the lather looks like airy foam, kinda like dish soap bubbles in the sink. It does return to normal when it starts to cool on my face. I usually end up having to paint in more water to get it to the consistency I'm looking for. I use a little bowl to dip my brush in and that'll have hot water from the kettle as well.

    Thanks, Joe!
I keep the electric kettle under my sink in the bathroom. Works out well as our kitchen and master bath are on opposite corners of the house.

I didn't consider that maybe you have a microwave in the bathroom. How cool would that be for making hot towels!

Lol! No, it is in my kitchen, but I have used it when I want a hot towel shave. Hot towels are very relaxing and it makes my straight shaving experience awesome when I do it. I may do a hot towel shave this week.
