How did you get the rust off?

Rust was fairly light so it came off okay with a green scouring pad under hot running water (no soap, it wouldn't help). That and elbow grease took it down to nearly bare iron, then quick dried on very low burner. I said SOS earlier but that's a generic term for me.

Fried an egg in it. Not yet teflon-slick glassy smooth but close enough. Some bouts of bacon frying will get it where it needs to be.

Maybe not manly per se but I haven't shared this picture yet and I can't find the Covid food thread. In any case my first attempt at French macarons. Unflavored light pink shells with vanilla buttercream filling. the recipe made 18 in total so you just have a preview here.

    :D

They came out better than I expected especially since I've never done anything like them before. Beginner's luck for sure. Next time... total melt down.

I am 2/3 of the way through drilling holes into the wooden Hebrew alphabet blocks I am using to make a menorah. (Each hole will hold a metal cup for the candle.) It’s hard rock maple, and brother, is that well-named. It’s hard as a rock! So I need to do a little at a time and stop, to minimize fatigue and avoid overheating the drill.

Try a little wax on your drill bit. May help things go smoother . :happy088:

I was reading this on a woodworking site and the guy uses Boelube . He says if you are going to use glue in the hole it wont hinder adhesion. I'll find the link for you.

Mounted the last mosaic “picture” on the wall. Now the last upgrade is ready in the kitchen.[IMG]
