Okay, about to send an orange cat packin'...

I can't stand the stupid thing, and I shouldn't have to go through extra steps to make my night time glass of water or tea cat-proof.

But the stupid thing continues to jump on my tiny night stand and start making a mess and ruining my drink...as well as splash water on everything in the vicinity.

Don't go feeling sorry for the fleabag, it's got plenty of water available, two water bowls in the kitchen, both freshly filled, and another in my daughter's room where the cat food and litterbox are located.

Yet, it continues to defy my authority of my household, and thus must go.

At least this time I was able to grab the collar before it ran away, and dump the nearly full 16 oz of water on it's head....with any luck, it'll avoid me to the point of me never seeing it again.
And if it gets into my drink again "Gee honey, I guess someone left the door open and it ran off into the woods on its front two legs. Oh, that was rather specific? Umm, yeah, it just ran off I guess. Yeah."

The other cat is okay. It's lazy and fat, and will let you pet it usually.
I still don't want them in my house, due to my allergies, as well as my kids' gradually worsening allergies (I'm sure partially due to cats in the house), but apparently I have no authority over such things.....

The ladies are heading off for a couple week, so I'll have the house to myself. At least when I'm not working. Off to shower and watch Doctor Who before bed.

    How about everyone else?

Family up late and last minute changes in plans meant I didn't get to watch it yet. I'll have the house to myself tonight though!

same stinkin' cat. I don't know how/why that shedding bipolar meow-bag has stuck around this long.
Believe it or not, I try to be nice to it, except when it's in the middle of mischief.
My wife likes the cat - actually, she likes the "idea" of that cat, he's orange with black stripes, she named it Garfield, but that's the extent of what she likes about it. He's not lazy, fat,or loveable, which is what she wanted in an orange cat.
Of course, I'm thinking "Hey, *I* fit that requirement......oh....."

meow-bag. I love it, love it, love it. My wife is a cat lover and will kill me if I use that term in her presence. thank you, Jim!

I wish I had a cat. But i am more of a dog type of guy. Not that i dislike cats but dogs are more fun to me. However never had either as my father has always been allergic and my current house doesn't allow pets.

Maybe in a couple years I will get me a dog... might get a cat first then maybe move up to a dog.

I concur, dogs are better :D

Meow-bags are okay, they're really fun as kittens, but then they grow up and get that attitude of "you'll pet me when I let you pet me".

Sorry, no animal in my home under my care has authority over me.
Yes, it's an animal with no sense of such things as proper hierarchy, but that doesn't mean I have to put up with it.

But the main thing with me is the allergies. Mine are bad enough, but my kids have apparently inherited some of mine, and these stinkin' cats shed enough to create several replicas. Cat hair must be like shark teeth, where there's constantly new rows growing replacing the ones that fall out.

We have a luggage set under the bed. The biggest one (that all the others are nested inside of) used to be black (the others still are).

It does amaze the size crevices a normal sized cat can fit into. I don't have room to squeeze my hand between the top of the suitcase and the bottom of the box-spring, it's an epic battle for me to move the thing under the bed, but somehow that 15 pound cat is able to get on top of it and sleep. That with an extra 1/4" of cat hair on top of the dang thing (can you tell we don't travel alot? :D)

Still, my wife likes the cat, even though it shows no affection or cares for any attention - actually, besides being bipolar, it may also be masochistic, since it continually does things that forces me to be aggressive toward it.
So, for now it stays....for how long, though, is the question

Sometimes I feel so alone in here.

    I think I'm the only cat-guy around.

I was wondering how long it'd take you to chime in

Like I said, I like cats, I just don't like owning them. I guess for me it's more like a grandparent-grandchild relationship, in which case they get to keep the kids for short times and send them back to the parents, I like cats so much as I can pet them or play with them for a short time, but don't want to deal with being responsible for them :happy102

(Cue Micah "I feel the same way about kids" response in 3...2...)

That is true. Kids are cute fun and adorable... Until they cry or you have to clean up. That is why other peoples children are the best. Because when that happens you just pass the child along. :D

I do enjoy cats but dogs are more active. They are just more enjoyable for me. Not knocking a cat guy or anything YMMV.

Yup.... dog guy as well. Ours is currently zonked out. She spent the weekend at a kennel so we could enjoy Saturday in Chicago. She usually sleeps two days after getting back from there. Its like all she does while she is there is run around and bark with the other dogs.

My cat is bigger then both my dogs put together and is a real pain in the a$$. It is funny when she and the dog fight over the bed.

I've been getting emails from a fitness place and I finally caved. Did an hour workout this morning before work. Spent 30 mins on the elliptical machine, then a few different weight exercises. Being the first time this century I've been in a gym, I took it easy.

I was going to sign up, but if I wait until Weds, I get a FREE month. It's only $15 a month, but hey free is free.

    Feeling sweaty, sore, and good.

Today is my first day back from a week off. I got my supplements worked out over the break, and I'm probably operating at around 85 to 90%, so all in all, it's working out to be a passable day. I haven't had an urge to strangle anyone yet. Of course, it doesn't hurt that one of my major stressors is off this week.

Forgot to bring anything with me to drink with my lunch, so I'm trying some twice brewed coffee. (made a pot this morning, left the grounds in and just ran half as much water through) The jury is still out on this.

Oh... sounds like my college days. Expect bitter and bleh... Yeah... I even used to start with Water Joe (caffeinated water) and do a double brew with that...

I always kind of think of Coby as being the poor man's Sony. But I mean that in the best possible way. It warms my heart to know that there are companies out there like this that are willing to turn out dirt-cheap electronics for people who aren't looking high-end quality but are totally okay with low-end substitutes.

Man I miss the dirt-cheap electronics review.
