    Yeup.
I've only had one Coby product, a portable CD player, and it worked as expected, and still works to my knowledge. Doesn't have any bells and whistles, just does what it's advertised to do.

Haven't used any other Coby products, so one simple CD player isn't exactly much of a meter to judge the rest by, but the reviews are surprisingly high on that tablet, more than half are 4 & 5 stars.

Wife got Lightroom and Photoshop CS5 lately. Wow, she is taking forever going through those pictures from the Chicago trip. But she is happy. Myself, GIMP is good enough.

speaking of which, I suppose I ought to include some zombie pics I took off my cellphone. (wife hasn't released any of the pictures to me yet from her DSLR - she is still lightrooming them)

I didn't take many pics.. just enough to prove there were zombies in Chicago and I didn't even think about using my cell phone until we got to Millinium Park.

I think I'm going to start writing a book.

I've written part of the opening scene so far, but I'm not half finished with it. Anyone care to read a little teaser?

    teaser (open)

Arlo Sodovski, or "Sawedoff" leaned his head back against the cool brick wall, watching rivulets of acrid smoke drift upwards and away into the brisk afternoon air, as he exhaled slowly, sluffing off the weight of a tiresome day. As he felt the slight warming sensation of a fresh drag from his half-smoked Marlboro he thought about what he was doing to his body. All this fresh air was killing him.

He hated this. Being outside on an afternoon like this was almost criminal--especially for a criminal who did his best work at night. Arlo never had adjusted to the new local ordinance that prevented smoking in public buildings. For the last six months, he'd had to change his habits, abandoning the late nights in the clubs in exchange for early afternoons on the sidewalk. He just couldn't handle the clean air inside any more. Since the clubs started enforcing the no smoking laws, the air outside was actually preferable. The thin layer of brown smog that hung above the city at rush hour was a poor substitute for the thick blue haze that had filled so many of his evenings in the past seven or so years, but it would have to do.

Almost as much as he hated being out early, where people could see him more clearly, he hated being away from the club scene. It had been a lucrative business for him. Though he had something of a reputation among the security staff, a few well placed presidential portraits could gain him entry to any number of local hotspots where he could ply his trade with ease. The bartenders loved Sawedoff. Whenever he lifted a wallet, he was always careful to nab from the most obnoxious and inibriated patrons. He would only take the cash from their wallet and either slyly return the wallet with credit cards in tact back into the rube's pocket, or turn in the "found" wallet to the barkeep for safekeeping, where it would promptly be returned to the drunkard. It was a good system. The drunks either went home when they found out they were out of cash (good riddance to bad rubbish) or they'd continue to run up a huge bill on their credit cards being freshly freed from the burden of seeing how much they were spending. Either way, the bartenders loved Arlo, and Arlo loved his craft.

That was before the council passed that new law.

Now, he was forced into the daylight, seeking for a different kind of target. He sweeped the sidewalk with his eyes, looking for a special kind of mark. He liked to find the ones who were elsewhere. If their mind was unfocused, he could rattle them enough to get what he wanted and get away before they even saw his face. He usually employed an overt technique that he had practically perfected since he learned it in Juvy. It was simple. Back into the unsuspecting victim, apologize profusely, look them straight in the eyes, and point out a bizarre news item in the newspaper he held in his hand. The genius of the system was, the article he was pointing to wasn't even in the paper. He would just point to some random article, place his hand on their back as he stepped up beside them, helping them to get their wits about themselves and mention "that panda at the zoo that died of autoerotic axfixiation." Inevitably, they would be so bewildered by all this, that they'd miss him casually relieving them of the burden of their wallet.

Nine out of nine times this system worked for Arlo. A less skilled grifter would never be able to pull it off, but for Sawedoff, it was a gift. He could look anyone straight in the face, take their wallet while informing them about the sexual habits of South African field rats, and walk away unidentified. Sometimes, just for fun, he'd return their wallet to them personally, encouraging them to carry it in their front pocket so they don't lose it next time some unobservant idiot reading a newspaper bumps into them. He revelled in the sarcasm of it, as they inevitably, sincerely thanked him for his kindness.

I haven't watched the old stuff. With dialects that have toilet plunges as guns ahha. But I must say they are good shows not matter what.

I am having a great day at work. I have now 4 packages in the mail on their way to my door step. I just hope they don't all come at once. If they do I wont know what to use next. :D

Monday was my annual physical at the VA,also with the nutritionist today was my three month follow-up with VA Oncology. Nine vials of blood later there were good reports and reports that need attention. The good report was my cholesterol was excellent, the good numbers were high and the bad numbers low. I have lost 14 lbs, and two inches from my waist. My potassium is too low despite that I take prescription potassium (5 20 MEQ a day). This is due to various blood pressure meds I take deplete my potassium. Today was just lab and follow to check my the level of my M-protein.
The last two days have been long and tiring. I did start the day with a great shave.
