Thank you Jim. I could move to CO and get a script for some of those good gummy bears. I'd feel no pain and have a hell of an appetite.

Blair - the missus would like me to pick up a generator. Which are the one’s that you currently use?

    Thank you, Danny!
Come on out for a visit to test the local medication. Who knows, you might pickup an old VW camper van and stay awhile.
    Thanks, Clint!

Just so there's no confusion among the NB2021 guys, I have had this brush probably about a year now.

My wife went into work today, probably only the second or third time since March. She'll be going in one day a week. Kinda nice to have the house to myself. I was up very early to make us bacon and waffles for breakfast before she left. Got the kitchen cleaned, cleared the last nights snowfall and got a nap in. I have Sonos speakers all over the house and when she's home I can't turn them up above a whisper. I've got the pictures rattling on the walls right now. Life is good.

Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements SS, ASB & AS/C - Supreme Sandalwood Science
    Simpson Chubby 2
    Puma '89 5/8 'Puma Special'

A sandalwood favorite this morning, PAA's 'SSS' aroma. It's 3 different sandalwoods blended, Indian, Australian and Hawaiian sandalwood, some is internally distilled from the various woods (according to PAA's website). If one is familiar with the Wet Shaving Products offering (which is like standing in a sandalwood sawmill room, while it's active, without a mask), PAA's offering is like standing out in the hall, every bit sandalwood, a very deep, full bodied woody fragrance but with a slightest hint of a pepper/powder combination. Other sandalwoods I own....Proraso Red and ToBS, those are opposite, more 'barbershop powdery' in comparison, with the prominent aroma being the powder, with a slight hint of sandalwood.

Decided to go for a face lathering only today, and the Chubby performed very well (it's not my favorite synthetic as it's slightly stiff for my preference). After a thorough soaking, a hefty 30 second tub loading, I used more knot splaying pressure than my usual, and was able to get a very nice thick but still a 'wet' lather built. 2.5 passes with this 'NOS' example of a 5/8 size 'Puma Special'. This was my first straight razor purchased (a little over 2 years ago). Nice smooth shaving this morning after a round on the linen and leather strops. No crimson issues, BBS- results if I'm going to rate it (ever so slight sandpaper on the right side bottom of my chin). Followed with PAA's Star Jelly after shave balm, then the matching SSS 'After Shave & Cologne'. Best part of PAA's AS&C blending....this aroma will last all day, into the evening. Wifey 'mmm' approved.

Hope everyone has a fantastic Thursday!

Awesome to see such a great shave, great gear, and great photo after such a crummy weather-week.

I'm experienced with portables, or those offered in or powering campers/rvs. Those brands would be Onan, Honda at the 'best of the best' end for campers, rvs, portables. They can be very spendy. Then would be Yamaha. I currently have a small 2200w Honda, 3500w Powerhorse (a Honda copy, reliable, quiet, sold at Northern Tool), 4500w Champion (inexpensive, reliable, noisy!, sold at Tractor Supply).

My experiences with Onan has been second hand...they've been in every camper/motor home my parents owned, but also several I've rented for the family vacations. Properly maintained, they last and last like Honda/Yamaha. The Powerhorse and Champion of mine are several years old, no issues with regular oil changes. They do get very regular use, each seeing at least a tank of gas burned every month.

For homes (not portable), the one I've heard the most about is Generac....but I've no experience with them.

    Hope that helps!

Beautiful setup and shave Blair. With all the swirls in that brush, how'd they get the sticker so straight? :scared003:
Can you imagine the look on his wife's face if she came home to blaring music and a bunch of old guys with lather on their faces, a razor in one hand and a beer in the other while waiting for the grill to heat up ? :git::happy097:

Yup. Start with Mr. Taylor's as a baseline and alter scents slightly from there...I know exactly the vibe you mean.

An excellent and informative conclusion to your Blackbird review, Dave.
Like you, I like to keep a razor or two around that keep the technique part of our hobby sharp with overt aggression, but much prefer a razor that combines some efficiency with smoothness. Those, I've kept a ridiculous number of...
