    Saved a grungy fatboy from the antique store today.
    And hopefully helped one guy with some info on straight razors. He was looking at the straights I was just about to look at :eek:, and we got to talking. None of the straights were worth rescuing, IMO. The two in that case were absolute trash. :rolleyes: But I gave him some quick info on getting started.

    This was the Broken Razor Antique Store.
    The first 2 straights; one was broken in half, and the other was taped closed and rusted as far as the eye could see.
    Then; a GEM with a broken hinge (and a blade inside WOOHOO!). It looked so sad there with it's jaw just hanging there. :(
    And then one of those safety razors with the split barrels.

    I think I'm going to start teaching a class; How to Recognize Trash 101

    Only bought the Fatboy, who looks like he just needs a nice hot bubble bath and a good scrubbing.

    I hate talking to people in person about this stuff, though. :o I get all nervous and talk too fast.
    I told him about the forum. Hopefully he'll join, and we can call him pant-wearing Jim. (Yes, his name is Jim. AND he was wearing pants.) (Gawd, I hope he doesn't see this. That just wouldn't come across right to the uninitiated. btw, we are running low on initiateds. can one of you pick up some more at the store, please?)




    I may require more sleep and/or caffeine at this time. :ashamed001

    Ok, I gotta figure out which razor this is. I said Fatboy, but it might be a Slim. So confusing! Picture detective time. or just sleep.

    Just got back from stuffing myself with mud bugs an skrimps. I don't normally go in for seafood, but with me leaving for the week, I wanted to treat my girlfriend who loves the stuff. She is not handling it well, but understands. Its this way every time I have to leave. This year its going to happen twice when I go to Texas for training in beautiful August .

    So far today I watched another cheesy 80's movie on netflix (Valet Girls)--it was pretty good. Loved the music.

    Then I got to work creating! Yup. Trying to flex my creative muscles a bit as part of my self prescribed therapy, and made another filter for using with the g'mic plugin in the gimp.

    Funny, I literally woke up on the wrong side of the bed this afternoon (a little nap.. must be getting old). I woke up as I rolled over and fell to the floor. I guess you can roll that way when you are on that edge... :ashamed001

    Today was a good day all around for me. Was at the gym at 7 AM and did a personal best 50 minutes on the elliptical machine after some weights. After that did some grocery shopping. Ran the weedeater for about 3 hours. Grilled a steak for Dad for dinner. Got a call from the boss that said I was spared from working the Kenny Loggins show tonight. I really never need to hear Danger Zone or I'm Alright ever again.

    Oh and my dog says I'm the best.

    He's still around? I had a roommate in college who loved Caddyshack. Watched it so much that I have an automatic averse reaction to that song. I still enjoy the part with Bill Murray and the Dalai Lama though.
