To add a little….cast iron that isn’ enamel coated, shouldn’t be used for acidic foods ever. Like Clint mentioned, sautéing or simmering tomato based dishes, as an example. I have a 50 year old cast iron Dutch oven from my mom, she cooked anything in it, and while still very nice & usable, the bottom is rough compared to another I have from my grandmother who rarely used hers other than making gumbo a few times a year.

Fantastic shaves Jeff! Weather-wise, the worst is over because we are going to have a "heat wave" this week.

My griddle is cold roll steel so yeah, I guess it's the same or similar.
I knew acidic foods would strip the seasoning and would need to be reseasoned but I didn't realize it would have that much of an effect on the metal itself.

Thank you Jeff. I find the 1914 more efficient, but is more awkward to load the blade than the 1912 model, but both are equally as smooth and superb shavers...Take care. Yours-Barry.

Wonderful camping at home shave Dave. I hope you are able to get things sorted this weekend.

    Beautiful shave and photo Pierpaolo.

Awesome shave lineup and photo Jeff. Take care and stay warm.

Fantastic photos and shave report Joseph. The Feather shavette just looks cool with the wood like scales.

Carbon steel should be used with acidic food either since they will strip the seasoning. I am not sure how much it would damage a carbon steel pan since the surface is much less porous than cast iron.

I will look into it Barry. I don't think it is available from US vendor yet.

Hopefully once the Covid-19 madness recedes to the point of some normality it may appear on your side of the pond.

Thank you Joseph. I am feeling decent this morning. With the sun out I went for a nice long walk on this brisk morning. I really miss Mocha dragging me out for our morning walks.

    Awesome Saturday shave this morning.

I caught this T4 synthetic knot Dscosmetics brush on sale a while back and this is the first run with it. I ordered a black handle but they sent this multi colored handle which is growing on me.

Guys you are not going to believe me but this T4 knot is bumping the T3 Trafalgar. The T4 is a 26mm knot and I have to admit it feels a lot like the Trafalgar just smaller. They sell the knots separately and I think I'm going to order a few and put one in my MrEE handle when it arrives from Evan. The knot is that good.

The Above the Tie Atlas with the R1 plate was good for three drama free smooth passes. Finished the shave with some Witch Hazel. No aftershave this morning....out the door to get some projects done.

    Take care gentlemen.
