Excellent shave Joe! I am very delighted that you did well with the lapping film. Now, we know you are not an idiot, but I have said from day one, lapping films are idiot proof and the least expensive option than stones.

Fabulous Fat Shave

 

I think you'll like it better now, Patrick. Saw a thread here where a guy removed the chrome finish on a Fatip and took it down to nickel.

I don't have high expectations on the fit and finish of a Fatip, but I still think it's a pretty good deal for the money. Maybe I'll get one next year while @jtspartan explores the virtues of Tabac.

After 30 days of using Tabac, @jtspartan's mug will look 10 years younger, his marriage will be stronger, his kids will be happier and do better in school, he'll get a double promotion at work, and his resting heart rate will be 57 bpm.

 

You might get him to use Tabac but he will never be converted. The stuff just smells to damn bad.

I believe this one is brass underneath so it will be exciting to see. The other parts seem to have a solid finish unlike the cap but time will tell. For the price and the fact it comes with 2 combs its worth a try. If it peels just demand a refund or credit. I'm sure if you sent Jason @jtspartan a puck of Tobac as a Birthday/ anniversary / truce gift he might be obliged to use it .

 

Well, we shall see in Jan 2022.

He did generously send me his Tabac stick and I've yet to encounter any of these positive changes you speak of. Should I be using it more often???

Joe, he's already tried it and hated it. Like I said he might use it since it was a bet but he won't enjoy it or be converted.

 

I smelled it and that was enough for me to throw the stuff away. After Clubman I am just not going to use stuff that reeks. So no Clubman, Arko or Tabac for me. If I read a post by anyone that loves those smells then I am very wary about believing anything they say about scents I might like.
