Yes it was a touch up. Eventually I will learn to mix in my 12 K Naiwa. Just need to get a holder

Very nice, Danny. We're seeing a warm up here into the 40s-50s starting today. It's great to see all the snow melting.

I just want to say that scents are very subjective. What one person may like, another will not. I happen to like Proraso, Arko, Tabac, Clubman Classic and Lilac Vegetal. I like citrus and almond frags. I don't like leather and tobacco scents, but I may be open to green vetiver. The wonderful thing about our hobby is that there is a wide selection of soaps to fit everyone's preference.

Fair enough, Clint. I didn't remember you getting any Tabac.

I'm with you on Clubman. It doesn't bring anything to the table (performance or scent) for me, so I have no plans to use it again.

I can't say I love the smell of any shave soap. Arko was pushing my limits, but it performed well. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy more of it. I don't get a strong smell from Tabac (the smell I get is OK), but it performs as good, if not better, than any shave soap I've used. I'm over experimenting with all the new artisan soaps and being disappointed in the performance more times than not. (As for artisans, I will stick with Mike's and Stirling.) I do enjoy seeing everyone here try new stuff, and occasionally my curiosity will lead me to try something new. If I see anyone getting too serious about any of this, however, the voices in my head tell me that it is time for shenanigans. ;)

Strangely enough, the only shave soap I would not use again is B&M Bay Rum. There was something about that one that I really disliked. In fact, I'm kinda over Bay Rum once I deep six my current bottle of CC Bay Rum AS.

The good thing about this place is that everyone can do their own thing and still be right. :)

I guess Tabac won’t work for me since my resting heart rate is 53

Clint is correct. I had a Tabac stick and used it for perhaps 5-7 shaves. Very good performance, no doubt, but a scent that I just don’t jive with. I am a firm believer in the ‘70s old ladies leather purse with crushed certs at the bottom’ comparison.
I would not have taken the bet if it meant using the aftershave for 30 days...:)

Yup. I’m actually starting to wonder if my recent plumbing problems were a direct result of pouring the Clubman down the drain a few years ago...and yes, I’m not sure if I’m kidding or not.:angry021:
Good for you! I happen to like being married.;)

I agree Charlie. I am sort of over most of the artisan stuff as well. I will purchase Mike's again and maybe another A&E. While I like the performance of Stirling, I don't enjoy his scents. He is one maker that would be better served by bringing someone in to help with scent profiles. I have thrown away more Stirling soaps than I have used. I am trying to move to lighter scented triple milled soaps. I find they last longer making them less expensive. Plus the scent dissipates quickly enough to use an aftershave or fragrance I want.

Unfortunately for me many of what would be considered classic shaving scents just smell old. They remind me of sitting in the lobby of an old folks home or the old guy at reeking of aftershave. I am getting old fast enough that I really don't want to smell older than I am.

Like you said, the good thing is that there is something in this hobby for everyone. I hope you guys have a great Sunday afternoon.

Swati has made it pretty clear that no Clubman or Pinaud products will be coming in this house ever again. I thought I would suffocate in the helmet after using Clubman. I poured that stuff down the drain and didn't hear the end of it from Swati. I am sure it would cause permanent damage to a septic system.

I agree with you on the flimsy Plastic container. I replaced mine with a more substantial plastic snap lid container.

It's a red letter day. I had decided to reduce some razors and put my Gibbs Adjustable on ebay. It just now sold for $525 shipped. Totally shocked me !!! Things are looking up :happy108:

Really like this soap and aftershave. Even when lathering in a bowl the soap whips up in a hurry. The Envy White knot is by far the best knot I have in a shaving brush. I have another in a Tres Amigo Brush. They are both amazing.
Sorry for the not so interesting photo. I'm watching golf dreaming I was back in California.
