You’re a definite Stirling fan, Bill. I only have one of their soaps with matching splash, Obsidian Glacial.
With respect to the R41-Piccolo comparison, most of the reviews always pick the Piccolo as the better shave. Remember, it was the great success of the Piccolo that inspired Muhle to bring out the R41.

The star of the shave today was the working drain in the sink Okay, enough of that. It appears I have 1 or maybe 2 shaves left with the SOCP after today. I must say it is a great soap and scent but I'm glad to see it get completed. I pulled a bunch I need to put in the BST when I get time and have 2 new ones coming from Hub City as well as any day ordering the Collaboration DFS/Ethos Colonia so I'm done buying soaps for awhile. Also, Charlie @wristwatchb contacted me and is Pifing me a 2019 TSD Blood on Steel soap. Such generous people among us in our communities we should be thankful for. No more 3017 or 1508.5's for me in the foreseeable future. I can see a mini/1 week focus on a soap sometimes, but I want/need the variety back in my shaves. Great shave with the Yates H and smelling good enough to.......................go to work on a rainy day. Have a GREAT day everyone !!
If I recall correctly the slant didn't yield good results with it either. Could have been a dud maybe.
According to Glen Mercurio, who’s been straight shaving for over 30 years, Dovo’s are good razors, it’s just that lately(last 2 yrs or so), factory honing has been subpar. He claims that he spends a lot of time fixing Dovo frowns resulting from poor factory honing.

I had to revisit these Derby blades again since I last used them . The lo Storto slant and the R101 rejected that blade so that left me wondering if I gave it a fair shake . I'm thinking about a R101 vs Picolo w/ open comb after this test is done.
I was having a difficult time trying to get the BoS 2019 in Canada so I contacted Rod and he made arrangements to ship me one . Apparently since it was specifically made for the 30DC it wasn't sold in stores . When guys on here heard I was having difficulty , a few gents who were at the meetup offered to send me a tub. That's a testament to the kindness for our fellow members shown in here .
