Just exactly Barry. Couple shakes and it's good to go. Shame a razor would catch flack for something simple as that but people can be fussy. If I see one floating around I'll let you know . :) You could also inquire about getting it silver soldered back together at a jewelry store.

Glad you enjoyed it Joe. Your soap listed used is the Smokeberry though which is a Blackberry scent. ;)

    Razor: RR BBS
    Blade: Wizamet (4)
    Brush: Graydog Cocobolo/ AP Synbad
Soap: Lakewood Sweet Orange Chili Pepper (1508.5 on Steroids) COMPLETED
    AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
    AS 2: Terre D'Hermes Splash
    Fragrance: Terre D'Hermes EdT

So I did get another shave and could get another but I'm calling this soap done as I normally do when it gets down this low. Time to move it to the current Clown Puke Storage Tub. While 1 or possibly 2 more shaves could happen successfully, they really aren't up to the kind of lather the soap is capable of when loading from a full tub. Still a great shave was had and here is the pic of lather on the face from a 40 second load time as well as the brush full of lather that did the rest of the 3 passes. Also a pic of what's left. Warning scary picture of ugly old guy to follow. Please remove children from the room. Or as they say on the news: We warn you, these images, you may find disturbing.

Now on to the razor recently acquired thru the BST is a Razorock BBS. It is truly a smooth razor that gave a carefree shave. You can see how they torque the blade and this creates an odd angle for me to hold it and keep the sweet spot for cutting. Not sure if I'll hold onto it. I was thinking while shaving I would sell it but after feeling my face afterwards and the results I am on the fence. We'll see how long the shave holds the whiskers at bay. Have a great day everyone !

Very nice shave, as always, Barry! I'm sorry about the 1924, but very glad you avoided injury.

Where are you located in the UK? My Bride and I were fortunate to visit the UK for the first time a few years ago. It's a beautiful and historic place. We had a great time.

    Enjoy your day.

Dave, I've been thinking about @MrEE also and hope things are OK.

Here is the scoop on the knot size. I plan to harvest the knot from an Omega 40033 boar brush for mine

Happy Tuesday everyone. I decided to go with the Asylum Colonia today. I haven't used the soap lately and the puck was spinning in the container while loading. :angry019: I might have to pull the puck out and grate it before the next use. Three passes and touch ups caught the baby. I did sit the razor down right below my nose hard enough to get a nice little cut. However, liquid styptic took care of the issue right away. This severed as a reminder to pay attention to the Blackbird when shaving. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

A little chilly in Alabama today but we are headed to 70 degrees. :happy005:

First run with the Alien Shave shave soap. This is the Solar Orange scent. The Yaqi Mysterious Space two band badger did an excellent job whipping up the soap. The soap is glycerine and performs about like any other glycerine soap that I have, Col. Conk and Imperial. I would put the Imperial in the lead though. The Alien soap has a very pleasant orange scent that smells like oranges and not a soapy orangey scent. The container needs to be a little bigger to load from. Overall a nice soap.

I put the Hawk Hulk handle on the Eco for today's shave. Astra SP blade on its second run completed three smooth and drama free passes.

A splash of Witch Hazel and a few squirts of Irish Chestnut by Andy Hilfiger and the shave was in the bag.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Rather, I believe your appearance is the result of too many years using that vile concoction you love to smear all over your face! Goodness, Charlie, wake up and take a hard look!

Great shave, Barry! I agree that the VC1 is a mild shave! My favorite Auto Strop is the VC4. It represents 42 years of incremental improvements to Gaisman’s original design, and is the only safety bar design. It is an incredibly efficient shave. I don’t know if you have one, but everyone I know who has one really prefers the shave to the preceding models. It’s one of my top 5 head shavers! Enjoy your day, my friend! Hope your layoff has ended!
