Favorites Friday today. I’m headed to the dentist to have a tooth pulled and a bone graft to set up an implant. So, like a man condemned to the chair getting his favorite meal, I decided I deserved a spectacular shave. SOTD, Fri, Feb 26th 2021 Razor: Kai style AC shavette- Mfg 2018> excellent razor to learn with, well built zamik razor IMO. Blade: Kai Protouch guarded (6) excellent blade and forgiving. Sharp & smooth for a close shave! Soap: Razorock Irish country side- mild scent with excellent lather qualities. Brush: Yaqi rainbow 26mm brown whiskers- excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips with a nice scrub + great lather painter. Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear aloe Vera gel on cleaned beard area. Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 3 + pickups. WTG + 2X ATG + pickups. Post shave: Razorock Emperor with witch hazel + a dollop of Nivea balm. Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = excellent shave with my Kai style(Luffy) shavette + Protouch guarded blade. Just the soap, no preshave needed for this wonderful lather. I'm going to smell great too with the Tom Ford lavender dandy known as Beau de Jour. ***EDIT - Another great shave with the KAI blade. It's just so 'comfortable', literally the most effortless glide through the stubble. 2-pass + clean up and a BBS result. I caused a minor re-opening of a very small cut I got 3-4 days ago with another razor. I used an alum block that brought a bit more redness to my neck and is rather deceptive in that my neck feels just fine with no irritation but has some redness anyway due to the alum. This happens sometimes randomly because my skin pretty much complains/over-reacts about the slight things. Overall this was a great shave and I'm really enjoying the comfort of the KAI blade in the DE-89 head. I've never read about anyone pushing this combo in the past, but I want some other people to try this out. I think it works excellent as a combo.
