For the life of me, I can never quite fathom why SV hadn’t added FA to their EdT lineup. I’d buy a quart.

Very comprehensive description, Bill. You mentioned picking a blade for this R41. My 2 cents- It isn’t going to matter much at all with a decent blade. I have run quite sharp blades in mine (SharpStar, PermaSharp) and the only cut I’ve got was today with probably the least sharp (Astra SP) blade I’ve run in it. It will bite when you are careless, and it won’t when you are not, imho.

I agree with Jason. It's the technique and the carelessness that causes the gotcha moment in shaving.

    Greetings,

(Proraso Products & slant razor week.) ( Face & Head Shave.)

A new eclectic shave set up to start the weekend....It's been while since i last used the Proraso sandalwood soap, i forgot how much i like this soap it's scent, and the lather that it creates.

The Treet 7 Days Platinum paired together wonderfully with the Parker 55SL, making a smooth efficient Indian made razor & blade duo.

A very enjoyable Close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a few generous squirts of Oud 24 Hours EDP to the pulse points.

My face and precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

    Razor: Rockwell Plate 5
    Blade: Wizamet (?)
    Brush: Saponificio Varesino 2.0 Bamboo
    Soap: I Coloniali
    AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
    AS 2: Nivea Deep
    Fragrance: Amouage Sunshine Man

Just a wonderful and pleasant shave today. The soap has a nice mango subdued scent with a smokiness. There is also a touch of menthol in it but is not detected in the scent but evident in the lathering feel. Love this soap/cream or whatever you want to call it. Took the Rockwell out for a spin as it hasn't had any love in a while. Plate 5 always gives a close mindless shave for me and I'm glad I traded Alan a brush for this set that he put his high hand polish on. Hope everyone has a stellar day and weekend !!

Good post, Bill. Your AS comment is one of the reasons I have ridded my den of all aftershave products. I simply do not want the "scent" in my face. The R41, used daily, can lead to irritation. My suggestion, unabashedly stolen from @Keithmax is to finish the shave with a WTG pass---even with the R41 and especially with straights. I have noticed a lot of improvement vis-a-vis irritation since adopting that practice.

Barry, tell me about the Oud 24 Hours? I have read mixed reviews, and much of the criticism is its lack of longevity. Thoughts :signs002:

Thank you Joseph. Shave results are no different than a Williams shave with a tech but the experience was more enjoyable for sure. Have a great weekend !

    Hello all.
Tried out my new razor this morning.
Not sure I'm excited about it.
The handle is long and I like a long handle but it's very heavy.

    20210227_070940.jpg
I have a very good shave from it although I'm not impressed with the way the blade is set in the head.
It seems to be less efficient than the DEvette although still a good shaver.
Using a new feather blade its still not where you'd think it would be on efficiency.

    The handle is large....
    20210227_071037.jpg

I have a new feather blade installed for another go round tomorrow.

Maybe I'm just a tad bit spoiled from the razor I'm used to using.

    All
    Enjoy

I do believe I will try some change in routine/pattern for a final WTG. Thx.

The skin treatments have been beneficial and the face feels very nice this morning.

If I was still a ‘coat & tie’ guy I could get away with a shave like last evening carrying over to the next day.
