Probably a great a wise choice Myles. I was adamantly against smoking as a youngster. I even managed to get my dad to quit. There I am in formation at Ft Benning when we are given the command rest which basically means you can move one foot around but stay in place. The the DI says smoke’em if you have’em. Well I don’t have any cigarettes and don’t smoke so this is really no break at all for me. I bum a Marlboro Light from the guy next to me and lit it up. Thus began a 40 year smoking habit that was hard to break. My advice is don’t start something you don’t intend on doing for a long time.

    February 28th
    Razor: Blackland Dart
    Blade: Gillette Winner (1)
Brush: Grizzly Bay Biblical/TnS gelled boar
    Pre-shave: PAA Cube
    Soap: A&E Asian Plum
    PAA Galactic Witch Hazel
    B&M Unscented Balm
    AS: A&E Asian Plum

    Good morning!

Terrific shave to start the day and end the month. Three passes for near BBS. Nearly silent alum.

Went with the Shoate boar this morning. No different than yesterday's gelled boar. They'll stay in the rotation as is throughout the year and if there's no improvement the knots will get replaced. They do work just fine if I smear a thin layer of soap into the bottom of a bowl and load that way.

The Dart. Loved it, hated it, love it again. One of my earlier razor acquisitions. Wonderful smooth shaves from the start. I put it aside as other razors made their way into the den. My technique changed between uses. The razor was now very harsh. I was riding the cap. That just doesn't work for me with this razor. The steeper the better. Riding the safety bar is the ticket for smooth easy shaves with the Dart.

    Have a great day!

Wonderful photo, staging and recap, Jason! The Karve was my first modern artisan razor! They are just fabulous shavers! I’m glad you’re enjoying yours!

Finished the February Fat Focus with a fabulous shave.

One would think that the humongous knot on this CH3 would present a challenge
loading and lathering MWF. Well, surprisingly it did not.
Face-lathered to nirvana with the best, Best-Badger knot I have ever owned.
Took the Wosty to the soft and hard Arkies, this morning.
The blade has some noticeable spine wear and a slight smile.
Was I successful in removing the smile? Nope.
Did I cause some more spine wear? Probably.
Were the results better than last time? Mos def©.
The Wosty is the Ugly Duckling in my straight den. It's also not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Maybe someday, I'll send it off for some professional work, but...

I don't have any issues wearing "unisex" fragrances that "lean" feminine.
I just want to smell good.
This scent starts off quite powdery and I am anticipating a muskier dry down.

Nice shave, Dave! I like the Famex! It is adjustable by tightening and loosening the handle which compresses the cage head. You should try a few settings before you pass it on.
