It's almost 8:00 in the evening and the temperature is still 94F with a heat index of 104F. We've had so much rain the past few days that my sump pump is running constantly. Other than that, it's been a good day.

Looking forward to Saturday. I'm going to a friends house for a poker tournament. The tournament is held in his garage. It's only going to get up to 90F on Saturday.

Forced to watch network tv. Apparently, America's Got Talent is "quality" television.

Haven't watched an episode of this in a couple of years.

Is anyone else bothered by the fact that the judges on "America's Got Talent" are two brits and a canuck?

That's just wronger than cauliflower.

 

I think I found a magazine that shares my philosophy on software.

 

10 minutes before I was supposed to leave for the week, the guy next to me got a virus which deleted his boot partition...

 

Well that is a pain.. For me it is the hottest day in a very long time and... The ac breaks in the building. Lucky my office is on ground level and a cement box which helps. The cement has a decent thermal retention so it is cool.

 

Trying to stay cool temp is 107 here in Arkansas. Has been a good day. Need prayers for our grandson Tucker he was admitted to the hospital for blockage.

 

Father, for Your glory, please bring healing to Tucker.

Made a cool purchase today at the thrift shop.

Picked up a 1970s Brother Deluxe 750TR, portable typewriter. It still has the case and is in excellent condition. There's a little discoloration in the plastic here and there, and the case has a slight knocked spot, but otherwise, it's in great shape. Dropped $10 on it. Then we went to Fred's and I found actual "typing" paper. Even though it's the same weight as copy paper, there is definitely a difference.

Kind of glad I didn't opt to stay in and surf while everyone else went shopping.

coincidentally, Staples has those boogie board tablet things... they're pretty neat, but not worth the money.

 

On closer inspection, it looks like my "new" typewriter was manufactured in August 1966.

 

Cool. Should go somewhere with many people using a laptop and bring that out and start typing.
