Thoughts and Prayers Andrew! Family first. TSD (along with great ''Droo78' shaving sessions), retail therapy, and quality music therapy are awesome follow ups for the other important time consumers.

Be well, join in when you can, always enjoy your posts and thoughts.

First run with Clint's @clint64 Tatara Nodachi and I can say I survived.

The Simpson whipped a very nice thick pile of lather. Now onto the Nodachi. I loaded a fresh Feather into this bad boy....hey, if you going to go....go big. Actually I understand that the Tataras are designed for the Feathers. I started with the cheeks....not bad...I've got this. On to the neck....still not bad. I did get a few spots of blood from a couple of small bumps that got leveled. Nothing really to even mention. I completed three very nice smooth passes. This razor is very efficient and smooth. There is hardly any blade feel. I really like the shave until I applied the alum. Lets just say it was hot and hot every where. At least the shave was consistent.

I wiped down the alum and applied a good splash of witch hazel. After that dried I applied the Cella splash.

Thoughts on this bad boy. A very nice razor that I just need to spend more time with. I will probably get a few more shaves in with the Feather and try an Astra SP in it. It just need to be toned down a little and the Astras just may do that.

I appreciate Clint letting the Nodachi spend some time in my den. Would I like to add the Nodachi to my den after one shave? I'm sitting on the fence on that one but let's see what a few more shaves do.

    Take care gentlemen!

SOTD TUESDAY MORNING, MARCH 2, 2021

Inspired by a number of TSD amigos who declared yesterday Micromatic Monday, I decided to pull mine out and have a go! The JT Sapele/Resin handled Omega Pro48 Boar, rapidly becoming one of my favorite brushes, whipped up a prodigious amount of MWF lather. Since I own both a MMOC and a MMCP, I decided on the MMCP for today’s dome shave, and loaded up a fresh Pella PTFE Gem blade. The ClogPruf model with its exaggerated lather channels was designed to remedy the complaints received about its Open Comb model predecessor. The two pass ATG noggin shave was exquisitely close, which is the norm for both models. The mug shave featured my svelte Simmons Hardware 4/8. I really enjoyed shaving with this little vintage beauty. Three passes later delivered a cool, clean, velveteen close result.

RAZOR: Simmons Hardware 4/8 (Mug), Micromatic ClogPruf (Dome)
    BLADE: Pella PTFE Gem
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: Sapele/Resin Handled Omega Pro48 Boar Knot
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Osage Rub.

Absolutely stunning shave Pierpaolo. You sure have an interesting collection of software and hardware in your den.

Superb shave Jeff. Interesting that some people have complained about the MMOC with clogging issues. I have not found that the case with mine.

Very nice shave Danny. I will look forward to your assessment of the Nodachi after a few additional shaves.

Thanks Joe. I'm good with Speed Racer. Quite familiar with the cartoon, watched everyday I was at my grandparents house, for many summers when I went to visit.

Quite apropos for the moment actually. Will likely get to have a drive soon, after I finish some graphics work. And for the record, The Beast is the truck in the background.

Thanks Evan! Yes, all good. Familiar with the movie, just an eye of the beholder technicality. :eatdrink047:

Love seeing all your posts and thoughts, the work on the brush handles (and I'm sure some razors soon) is always awesome!

Thank you Joe. The Parker 55SL Semi-Slant is a wonderful shaver. Slightly milder than my Merkur slants, but equally smooth and efficient.;)

    Mike's Vetiver~~Rubberset 400/3~~Gustave Lalune~~Serge Lutens Vetiver Oriental
Loved the lather of Mike's so much yesterday, I had to use it again today.
Loaded the Rubberset and face-lathered the soap.
Then I took the Lalune to the strops.
    Re-lathered and went to work.
    WTG; XTG; ATG; WTG.
All without issue. The edge of the Lalune is very keen and I experienced no dragging at all---
    even during the ATG pass.
Cheeks and jawline are very good, neck is presentable.
Cleaned up with witch hazel and finished with a sample of
    Screen Shot 2021-03-02 at 08.41.42.png
The samples you get from Lucky Scent come in these minuscule bottles and are
nigh impossible to apply. I purchased some atomizers and decant (that's funny, the amount is
seriously less than a 1/4t) the juice.
The cheap bottles spray fairly well, but this was the second application
and I barely got 1/10th of my normal over-spray.
This juice is not what you may expect from a "vetiver". Missing is the earthiness,
damp-soil, dark feel; instead I get a more feminine, powdery, chocolate, gourmand vibe.
For the price Lutens commands for their colognes, this one is mos def© a pass.

This mornings shave(Tuesday)was real good. 0:25 to load the soap onto the Crown King brush. Instead of a second load during the first pass, I spent the time doing extra "paint jobs" on my face. 2 passes in all. My one(and only)blemish was a small cut at the middle border of S.Porcupine and N.Cactus(mid-jawline). A "speed bump" got in the way of my progress along that area. Everywhere else was nice and smooth. This Razorock soap(Gold)is similar to my Razorock Aqua(I think that's gone now), in that it is easy and comfortable gliding across the face and neck. Other Razorocks(like my Tuscan Oud and the one I use in the summer-name slipped me)is more along the 3x-milled persuasion...harder to crack. Clubman Special Reserve to close out this one. Most Excellent.

Terrific Tobacco Tuesday shave to start the day! The Dart is such a Jekyll and Hyde razor depending on the angle. Three easy passes for near BBS. Nearly silent alum.

    Have a great day!

We have a winner and Blair approved CT Joanna @Queen of Blades!
I propose Speed Racer as @b1hart Blair's new CT. It fits him because Blair goes to car events, races, etc and the cartoon character of the 60's believes in family values. The character has a nice photo if he wants to use it as an avatar.
