    Thank you, Danny.

So far I'm loving every minute of it. Doing what I want to do when I want to do it really has its advantages.

That is great. I don't mind going to work and working....it is all of the other mess that I have to put up with. I'm sure you understand.

Enjoy the MOLC....you have earned it.

    First up

Muhle Feather AS R41 2011 - razor head on loan from @Primotenore
    Feather blade (1)
    2Tone tall Synthetic
Stirling Unscented Sheep - mutton tallow
Monster Brut - courtesy of @Hembree

I dedicated time to really focus on my shaving skills to hit target #1 comfort, and target #2 closeness. My lack of rush paid off today.

I found a slight edginess which is my normal for shave 1 on a Feather, maybe a bit more than milder tools. It only lasted during the shave.

I followed Joseph’s recommendation to make the final pass WTG to be beneficial. I still preceded it with ATG.

I say this all the time about Stirling Mutton tallow soaps.....Glorious Stanks aside, I’ve not used better.

I rate this tool at 3 levels, cutting hair aggressively, cutting skin, or not cutting anything. Today I managed to hold the first.

A wonderful shave result! This piece would not find a permanent place for me since I don’t crave this kind of closeness, but it is really fun test driving it.

Brut for the finish. It doesn’t get any better.

I’ll want a few more operatunities before I send her home.

Second up - a straight showdown

    Stirling Mountain Man Software
    Simpson Emperor 2 brush
    Thiers-Issard 275 1175 6/8 extra hollow grind
    Dovo 300 5/8 half hollow

The first shave with the TI was right out of the box. A little edgy for my taste, so I refined on some cBN pasted balsa strops.

This razor with all of the defects of a French handmade piece delivered marvelous results. I’ll take the warps and frowns any day in exchange for a shaver like this.

Alternating in is my first straight demonstrating like usual the mildness one would expect.

Comparing the 2 heads up leads me to believe my starter needs a jump start. No tape, and honing on crowned surface stones this time. If I can’t get a blistering new edge on this piece it ain’t worth keeping especially when every other straight currently outperforms it.

    Myles,
    Two Canadian aftershaves, one Cologne:

Both have After Shave in French, Cologne does not (wouldn’t need it) but as it lists the NJ locale first, it may or may not be Canadian. I frankly don’t know enough.
Don’t know if this helps you or not.

I just learned more recently when looking at the bottom of your bottles, if it says "Shulton Inc." that means, the bottle was manufactured in the 1950s or before. It's a little hard to read those inscriptions, even for my young eyes, however it is legible.
