    Razor: Blackland Dart
    Blade: Gillette Winner (3)
    Brush: Simpson CH2 synthetic
    Pre-shave: PAA Cube
    Soap: PAA Astra Planeta
    PAA Galactic Witch Hazel
    PAA Astra Planeta Star Jelly
    AS: PAA Astra Planeta

    Good morning!

Excellent shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Just the lightest tickle from the alum in the left hollow of my neck. It's official, the Dart and I are buddies again.

I think I'm going to head out and make breakfast on the flattop. Steak, egg and cheese scramble with onions and jalapeno mixed in for good measure.

    Have a great day!

    CL Unconditional Surrender AS

Pulled out the cousin of the LC, the Goodwill with the NEW style baseplate. Moved the Wizamet over and away we go. Next up in the 'old soap' rotation is the Apothecary, which I picked up early in 2017. It had just been discontinued by Jeeves, fwiw.
Whipped up an exceptional lather in this light, minty scent. 3 easy passes has me passing the cotton ball test. For some reason, there was some minor blade chatter that usually isn't there. The blade is held differently in this Goodwill than in anything else Gillette had at the time. 2 very short mortices that recess into the top cap is about it. It does work, but isn't as mindless to load as any of the News. Other Goodwills have decorative mortices that go through the top cap with OT style baseplates. What do you expect from razors that were given away as long as you got the blades that came with them...
Finished with the great Unconditional Surrender. I've always loved the face feel of these CL splashes.
    Have a great day all!

Thank you Jeff. I thought the Masamune would help set me up for success with the AS-D2. I am glad it worked out that way.

Love the look of the 'F' type as well, Dave. So unique in the Schick Injector stable for sure. Interesting review of the vintage AV as well.

That is a very cool Bay Rum bottle, Joe. Not sure I've seen one of those elsewhere. Very exciting to have those meetings to set up the technical details of retirement for sure. I'm happy for you!

    Hello everybody.
My wife is still in the hospital but stable.
Hopefully she will show signs of improvement the next couple days.

    The morning shave was ok.
Still not like I'm used to but I want to give it another go round or two so I can fine tune and learn the tool.
    20210303_095951.jpg
Broke out the shaving cream and mug too.
I normally use soap and skin lather but with keeping it interesting, I switched.
Face shave was much better but the head shave still needs tweaked.
I know, some are thinking, isn't it interesting enough shaving your face and head with an open blade DE razor and a new Feather blade every shave???
    Guess not.

I'm trying to keep my mind positive and productive and out of the darkness.
So if you see a picture of me hanging upside down, 100 feet into the air, blind folded while open blade shaving...

    No worries.
    ;)
I'm just trying to keep my mind busy.

Hopefully my wife gets better soon, but I'm in a waiting game.

    All
    Enjoy

Sticking with Mike's. Nothing more to add.

The straight proved easy to use, no issues at all.
    Finished with a Barry-inspired EdP.
    Oud 24 Hours.
The name is not indicative of the scent, as there is no hint of Oud.
This is said to be very close to Tom
Ford Black Orchid, and having tested the TF, I agree.
Went easy on the sprays, just two and avoided my clothing.

You are right, Clint, that brush is a perfect match for the new razor. Great results off the hop, as expected. I've heard mention that the Feather was the first modern Stainless high end razor. Don't know whether that is accurate or not.

Good morning fellow 30 DC shavers!

    Whiskers: 41 hours

I am dedicating this shave to my mother who is in Heaven. Today would've been her 91st birthday.
I decided to pick out my Wosty near wedge because I haven't used it in awhile and I have a heavy enough stubble to warrant its use. Loaded my brush with the Cella a number of times to facelather because the soap is filled to the brim. I really don't need the soap overflowing from the tub. The smell from the soap is definitely awesome and it does provide a nice, slick lather as well. The Wosty did a great job mowing down my stubble on my first pass and I could have called it right there. However, I like 2 passes and got a near BBS without any problems and no touchups were required. Did my usual postshave routine to end this tribute shave to my mom. As an afterthought I decided to headshave using the same gear, but replaced the Wosty with my Model T. With a Rockwell blade loaded in the Model T, I got a nice smooth headshave. Have an awesome day guys! 20210303_092739.jpg
