That is a very informative and honest assessment of the Nodachi, Danny. I'm not surprised the Astra didn't move the needle that much from a Feather. I find the Astra SP gets a little bad press now and then even though it is a top tier blade. I think it is because perhaps it not as sharp as some of it's Russian Gillette brethren. It makes up for it in smoothness, though, and it isn't like it is dull by any means.

Great shave, Terry! I’ve added your wife to my non-denominational prayer circle! The prayers all go to the same place, just a different frequency! It’s great news that she’s stable! I hope your test remains negative! We’ll keep working on her return to health!

Thank you, gentlemen! We have some nice weather so I'm going to take advantage of it. I'll probably be cooking all our meals outside today.

The pic is exceptional as always, Jim, but my mouth is watering over that breakfast description! Awesome. I guess that is more appetizing than my sesame bagel early this morning...

    Wednesday's Shave

As is my usual routine, I awoke and was up before the rooster crows, but unfortunately, I did get to go see Curtis Loew...

Late last night, after I got everyone and everything settled in the household, I took the time to make a SOTD picture so that I could post this morning's shave. It was a WONDERFUL shave!

    RazoRock Game Changer .68 OC
    Gillette/Wilkinson Sword Blade (1)
    Simpson T3 Trafalgar
    Mike's Hungarian Lavender Shaving Soap
    T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Fine Lavender Pour Homme Aftershave

I've been using the T3 brush almost exclusively since it arrived. What a wonderful brush! Also, I have been using the new Game Changer razor almost exclusively since its arrival. What a great razor!! The (new to me) Gillette/Wilkinson Sword blade performed like a champ this morning and reminds me of the Personna Platinum Chrome blades (the ones I have that are made in Germany). Very smooth and still sharp enough to bypass any tugging issues. I'll keep these blades around and will most likely order more when needed.

The Mike's Hungarian Lavender was everything I had hoped it would be. Based on the glorious reviews (mainly by @Primotenore and @clint64 ), I had a good idea it would be a winner. I already have experience with the soap base because of the Bay Rum variety I already use from Mike's. It's simply an outstanding, no-frills, high-quality product!

The Fine Lavender Pour Homme aftershave has been on "my list" ever since I received the sample of it about three years ago. I should not have waited so long to order a full bottle. It is a terrific scent and pairs well with the Mike's Lavender soap.

The T3 is also such a great brush that has had NO issue at all whipping up a tremendous lather any time I have used it. What a great value too!
I have also been bowl lathering exclusively (except for when I use shave sticks), for about 2.5 months now. I've found it helps me get the lather to the best possible consistency that I require for my preferences.

Glad to see your write up, Andrew! Agree on the GC .68 as well. Not the widest sweet spot, but smooth and efficient for sure.
