Fruitcakes (the good ones) are used as a form of currency 'round here. Same for cookies, BBQ, ice cream, fried fish...pretty much any kind of health food.

My mom was five foot one and despite her diminutive size, you did not want to get her angry. Lol!

 

We received some great news this morning. I got a call indicating there was a last-minute opening for me as a "caregiver" to get my first dose of vaccine. It required a Dagwood Bumstead exit and drive across town. Unlike Dagwood, I managed a quick shave beforehand.



While I was there, the staff was able to reschedule my Bride's appointment so that she received her first dose as well. This was a huge blessing and relief for us both.

Not intending to start another debate. Instead just wanting to share some great news in our world with my friends here.

Thanks Joseph! She is an elegant, but plain 100+ yr old straight razor. I admire its simplicity. Because it is a heavier grind, it is very forgiving and it really slices through my stubble. I really don't know why I don't shave with it more frequently because I always get great shaves without any problems.
